Buyer beware – do NOT buy from Maronda Homes if you expect a comfortable, problem-free house. I regret purchasing my new home from Maronda Homes. They market their homes as “energy-efficient” with superior insulation, high-performance windows, proper air sealing, and quality construction throughout. The reality? My single-story Maronda home is a constant headache scorching hot all summer, freezing cold on winter nights, plagued by ongoing plumbing issues, and riddled with defective lighting. The AC runs nonstop but never cools the house properly rooms stay stuffy and unbearable. In winter, the cold penetrate the walls, super cold bathrooms, leaving everything drafty and chilly at night. Maronda Homes is a terrible builder and run by dishonest, unscrupulous people. My parents were told by sales people that don't work there anymore, that the poplar forest behind their forever home would remain there, it made for a beautiful view and lowered the heat and sheltered wildlife. Today we found that Maronda ordered the forest behind their home to be torn down for 'drainage' reasons, with zero notice even though the trees absorb excess moisture. The neighborhood is now a construction zone with all manner of noise and disruption, and now they are tearing down this wooded area with a bulldozer which buttressed the noise from the road and provides the neighborhood with privacy and beauty.
