Arriving on move in day, the hallways are disgusting and it smells like cigarette and drugs. The apartment didn't smell good, had to buy an air purifier and bath and body works wall flowers to help with the scent. The welcome folder was stuck to the counter top and doesn't give instructions for the wifi which is included. A bedroom door won't close at all, another is hard to close and they are rooms without a window to provide another access out in case of fire. The refrigerator door doesn't close properly. Stains on the carpet should have been cleaned or replaced. Can definitely tell they slap the paint on between renters...on the ceiling or missing spots. Atwood Management has known about flooding in our apartment for over two years, and they’ve done absolutely nothing to fix it. We’ve reported every single incident—complete with photos, calls, and follow-ups—and they’ve continued to ignore the issue. We even suggested simple, preventative solutions like checking the seal on our sliding glass door or providing sandbags. Instead, we had rain pouring in through the door, and had to use blankets, towels, and clothing just to contain the water. During a previous flood, we came home from work to find an inch of water stretching from the sliding door, through the entire apartment, and even into the hallway of our building. Their solution? Save your money and rent somewhere else. I rented from them for 2 years and it was horrible. Getting ahold of maintenance, or anybody really, with questions was near impossible. They either passed me around between departments, waited on hold for 15mins or more, or just got told “management will call you back”. They added a “resident benefit’s package” when I renewed my lease which had discounts for services like plumbing and lock-outs, which management provides anyways. It was an additional $29/month and I couldn’t opt out. I moved out over 24 days ago and I’m still waiting for my returned security deposit. The lease states “no longer than 21 days” and it’s been 27. I rented from Atwood for 4-5 years. Basically, lived in a state of disappointment the entire time. My first ever maintence request was in 2020 to fix the draft coming from the windows. These windows clearly were from 1960’s and in need of replacing as you could see outside through the cracks but I believe Atwood thought the freezing winter draft on your head built character. So they never fixed them, at least not during my time. Edit: My upstairs neighbors did actually get their windows replaced, but they took a more dramatic approach - by breaking it during a domestic dispute.
