Witherite Property Management

DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THEM I dealt with their crap for 3 years and now my younger brother is dealing with it. Raise rent for no reason, won’t fix anything that needs repaired. I bothered them for MONTHS about my heat not working and it was never fixed. My younger brother moved into my unit after I left and the furnace caught fire because they wouldn’t fix it! I didn’t have a working kitchen sink for a month because they wouldn’t come fix it. The office is impossible to get ahold of as they don’t answer their phone, don’t return voicemails, and don’t return emails. Greedy rich guy who wants to own all of Bellefonte but won’t take care of his tenants.

I moved out of their newest apartments earlier in the year and can't complain, it was decently prices for the area for the large space we had. They were a little hard to get ahold of at times, but we never really had issues, so I can't really attest to how they'd be with a problem. We were the first to live in that unit and took good care of it; we saw all of our deposit back in a timely manner. I do think they could have done a better job to maintain cleaner shared spaces such as the laundry and staircases, but other than the issues were other tenants (or workers?) littering food on the property. Overall a pretty smooth experience for us, though.

They've managed this property where I reside in a studio apartment for 4 months, since about August of 2023. Prior to their management the property was great. Now there's constant trash in the common areas. Overgrown landscaping with mounds of cut grass where vermin hide, confirmed by the vermin feces on the porches. My maintenance requested are cancelled. They've gone as far as attempting to charge me for their vermin removal. Of which, I had to report them Centre County fair housing office. Despite the lacked management, excuses of turnover in staff, they increased the rent for studio apartment to $900+ monthly.

Office people are nice but I agree with a previous review. You won't get all of your security deposit back because if the previous tenant made a mess you will be the one paying. When we moved in the place smelled of paint. First floor had water line break and soaked our carpets which made the place smelled of cat piss. Never did we ever have a cat in the place. My baby and I stayed upstairs until the place stopped smelling so bad since they didn't do anything about it except have a fan to blow dry the carpet. Did nothing so we bought a dehumidifier which dried the carpets faster. Then when we were moving out we couldn't sublet the place and they found someone for us by chance who then cancelled but I'm not sure how long they waited to tell us since we found out when someone wanted to see

WORST landlords you could ask for. Raise Rent and evict for no reason. They are buying up all the properties in Bellefonte. Evict disabled tenants. They want you to pay rent on an APP??? They do not care about tenants. Only money. Say their name and nobody has a descent word to say bout them... arrogant, nasty, hot headed mostly.
