In a profession dominated by jackals and hyenas, Nick Kowalski is a lion, an eagle, a mythical creature. My wife and I hired Nick and his company, Shugart Builders, to build our home in Long Lake Township. We had heard horror stories from friends about their experiences with builders. Nick Kowalski is different. He JUST. GETS. IT. Nick responded to every email, phone call, and text. He and his staff were consummate professionals throughout the entire project. He’s honest too. Never did I feel like he was manipulating me into making a decision solely because it would earn him more money. We did a few change orders, of course. The quality of work and dedication of Shugart's was exceptional! We were kept abreast of the process through the entirety of our home being built and communication was clear and straight forward. We are so pleased with our home and would highly recommend them for any of your building/remodeling needs!

Came out to look at a remodel job. Wouldn’t even give us a quote. They just called back to say they were all booked for the foreseeable future. That was after the initial call we had saying they could complete the job by next spring. Not sure what the deal is but seems like they are dishonest folks!
