Riverbend on the Charles

Have had an amazing experience at the Riverbend. Nicole and Rolando are incredibly caring and attentive team members. Riverbend was at the top of our list for our move to the Boston area because of their incredibly friendly pet policy and extremely convenient location next to the Charles River Greenway (incredibly views) and a great dog park just around the corner (not to say the least of the resident only park attached to the man building). Would highly recommend for commuters to Cambridge as well, because Watertown has a community shuttle to Harvard square that picks up nearby on Pleasant St!

This property used to be okay—until it wasn’t. Unfortunately, my experience over the past year has been extremely concerning. I discovered mold and moisture inside my HVAC system and have experienced ongoing health issues since April. Despite repeated verbal and written requests for a licensed HVAC inspection and independent air quality testing, these requests were denied or ignored and instead treated as routine “maintenance checks.” There has been visible mold and moisture growth on HVAC components, as well as black soot discharging from vents onto my furniture. I have sought medical care multiple times as a result. Management has remained largely unresponsive, even after I contacted the local Board of Health. Maintenance staff entered my apartment without proper notice to remove mold

I’ve had a great experience living at Riverbend on the Charles. The community is well maintained, peaceful, and in a beautiful location by the river. What really makes a difference, though, is the staff. Nicole and Rolando have both been incredibly helpful, professional, and responsive whenever I’ve needed assistance. Their friendly attitudes and excellent service make living here even better. I truly appreciate how much they care about residents and the community. Highly recommend Riverbend on the Charles to anyone looking for a great place to live!

Riverbend has been home for 12 years. No longer brand new, it is still pretty great, but needs continued upkeep (new carpeting, fresh paint, power-washed garage, upgraded amenities, overhauled elevators, etc.). Changing ownership over the years, some have been better than others. Most recent brings a company that seems to recognize updates are essential, as is renewal of the property. Residents hope this will be the case. Apartment homes are well designed and spacious, gym and garage bring useful amenities, location on the river path and easy access to Boston or surrounds. On-site staffing has usually been 4 persons, 2 in the leasing office and 2 in maintenance; of late, we have 1 each. It is a lot of ground to cover, given the size and age of the property. I’ve lived at Riverbend for about seven years, in two different units—most recently on the top floor overlooking the courtyard and the river. Pure bliss! I’ve really enjoyed both the location and the community here with some fellow tenants having become friends through a building book club and summer poolside chats. I've also been relieved over the years that the rent increases have been reasonable. Nicole Arias, the property manager, has always been friendly, responsive, and adept at juggling the many complexities of managing the building. The maintenance team works hard and always with a smile. The building was recently purchased, and it’s been good to see improvements like new landscaping and updated interior and exterior lighting. I’m looking forward to seeing what other improvements
