They are proactive, solution-oriented, and incredibly responsive --issues are addressed quickly, communication is clear, and you genuinely feel taken care of as a resident. What sets Portico apart is not just the beautiful property, but the people and the sense of community they intentionally create. Living here has been a great experience. Gorgeous waterfront and downtown views . The building has a modern aesthetic, well kept amenities, and an elevated feel; the many terraces, wine lounge and pool deck feels like a retreat . Alyssa and her management team are approachable and both solutions and residents focused. They genuinely care about the property and the residents , which adds real value to the living experience here. Highly recommend .

My husband and I have lived at Portico now for just over 6 months, having moved here from out of state, and sight unseen(!) We could not be HAPPIER with our choice! I debated on leaving a review, in hopes to keep this little quiet (yet growing) corner of Oakland to ourselves…but I must give Portico and it’s Amazing Staff the recognition and 5 stars it deserves! This property reflects everything a tenant could ask for, safe, clean, conveniently located, quiet, waterfront, pet friendly, wonderful amenities, and most of all the Best Staff/Management! To be fair, I’ll address the “problems” such as: pet waste, smoking, stolen items, breakdowns of amenities… I have experienced some of these (no theft!) but would like to point out that these have Nothing to do with the Management/Maintenance. I moved into Portico about 18 months ago when it was practically brand new. As the building began to fill up, there were definitely a few growing pains, but overall this has become a fantastic community with impressive amenities. What I love most about living here is how dog-friendly it is. There’s a large in-building but outdoor dog area with a washing station, and the entire Brooklyn Basin waterfront is perfect for long walks. My little one even gets a treat every time she walks through the front door! The apartments themselves are modern and comfortable. Each unit has Nest-controlled heating and air conditioning, fast and reliable Wi-Fi (a previous pain point that’s now fully resolved), and Ethernet ports in every room. Sal, the leasing agent at The Portico, was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. If this review was only about Sal, it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the building and logistics were the deal-breakers. There was no parking available for our move in timeframe, no future resident parking, and basically no street parking because the area feels more crowded than lively. We had to park in a neighboring public garage, which we were told is also the garage we would likely use if we lived here. We toured Unit 807 on the top floor, but it looks directly into the courtyard and dog run. From the balcony we could smell the dogs, and there were lots of flies with fans by the dog area being used as a workaround. There is also new construction next door, and from the amenity level y
