Newrez

I was not notified that my insurance was going to go up until after I received a new mortgage payment with a large increase. I found a better insurance company and notified Newrez only to find out that they had paid the increased insurance as well as the new insurance. I received a letter saying that prompt action was needed on my end because my escrow was short. I've called countless times to get no where. Today i've gone thru the same call tree trying to speak to someone in the insurance department at least a dozen times...eventually my call was disconnected. Apparently "promp" doesn't mean right away or they just don't want my money. This is also the second year in a row that they've done this. Very aggravating.

I've paid off over half of my mortgage. And applied for a recast a month ago originally, they said it would be a few days then.When I called back, they said they're backed up two weeks. After that time passed, I called again and then they said, 30 days and said someone would reach out to me that never happened. And never got emailed over the paperwork to sign like they said I would. Fast forward to now a month out.I call back, keep getting the same supervisor with no.Info they just tell people what they want to hear now.The backlog is thirty to sixty days. They're just stringing people along.This is not the way to do business. Use a different lender.If you're thinking about using Newrez. If a member of management that is not the same guy that I keep getting transferred to is reading this.

We are first time buyers with a unique situation and NewRez has been so amazing that I am at a loss for words. We experienced a few different lenders prior to getting connected with NewRez, and up until that point it felt like a nightmare. Their efficiency and time management have been TOP NOTCH. We are a handful of days away from a definite clear to close, or not, but regardless of the outcome, they're hard work and incredible work ethic does not go unnoticed. NewRez is escrowing my home insurance without my consent which is a breach of my contract. I have contacted customer service numerous times asking them to stop. Each time I submit a request it is denied, even after custom service themselves have confirmed my Closing Disclosure says "NO" for Home Insurance Escrow. The error has increased my monthly mortgage by $900.00. I have formally submitted a "Notice of Error" letter to NewRez requesting an investigation, contacted a lawyer, and I am talking with the BBB.
