I felt it was important to come on here and share my experience. When I first learned we’d be moving into Wadsworth, I was genuinely worried — many of the reviews paint a very negative picture. However, my experience has been the complete opposite. My family was fortunate to receive a newly renovated unit, and it’s clear that real time and money were invested into these updates. Our home is absolutely beautiful. From day one, the management team has been welcoming and professional. Allison, in particular, handled our entire move-in with care and even followed up afterward to ensure our transition went smoothly. The location is incredibly convenient — we’re near everything, including the beach, which is practically a straight shot. There are also so many playgrounds throughout the community
To begin this, I am never one to go full Karen and write reviews like this on google (look at my review history), so yes, this place is THAT bad. I would never recommend liberty military housing to a single service member. My less than one year stay was great up until 6 months in. That was when we realized our unit as well as our entire building was infested up and down with American cockroaches, or “water bugs” as you southerners like to call them. When we first moved in we had noticed several tiny black bugs throughout the home, mainly downstairs in our kitchen. We put stuff down thinking we had ants, issue persisted. Well lo and behold, one day we come downstairs in the middle of the night and see a giant roach greeting us in our dining room. We realized that those tiny black bugs we we
Maintenance is always nice and prompt. Never had a bad experience with the employees. Very personable and goes out of their way to greet you/help. The most responsive maintenance staff out of any military housing we have ever lived at. Wish the house itself was bigger but other than that, it is a great place to live. We have a non-renovated unit. I hear people complain a lot about not getting one that is renovated. I absolutely don't mind what my home looks like, as long as it's clean and free of pests (which it is) and aren't charged damage fees at move out if our home will be renovated. 😅 It's a temporary home so I'm okay with what we get. Our main reason for choosing this housing area was for safety and the high school we are zoned for. Ocean Lakes is rated number 3 in VA Beach, so it'
Issuing a violation is one thing, I understand that the Christmas lights were up well past the holiday. That is fair. However, coming back three days after the first notice to post a second violation for something that was clearly visible on my patio at the time of the initial inspection (the strollers) feels unnecessary and targeted. If the strollers were an issue, why were they not included in the first violation? Why wait, return, and issue a second notice? This pattern gives the impression that management is intentionally targeting my family. It feels as though there is an effort to push out residents who are not favored. Additionally, the violation emails themselves contain grammatical errors, which does not reflect professionalism. At this point, I would advise others to consider
DO NOT move here. Housing does not care about your living conditions or doing preventative maintenance so you have a safe place to live. They take 100% of your BAH and can’t even keep up with basic maintenance for the property. Parking FLOODS when it rains so if you have a car you’re not using or are just maybe asleep with it floods, sucks to suck, housing is not at fault. Been told plenty of times the DRAINS on the property don’t belong to the property, so who’s responsible to maintain them when they’re constantly reported as not working? Lawsuit waiting to happen. They don’t care about military families, just military paychecks.
