🚨 Honest Review: Proceed with Caution I applied for a 1-bedroom/1-bath unit (#206) at Lakeview Towers for $2,050 — beautiful unit with its own balcony — and I regret the entire experience. The leasing agent, Layla, was great with communication initially and quick to collect the $490 application and holding fee, but once payment was sent, she completely disappeared. She promised a call that same day and ghosted me. I reached out all day on Thursday as our move in date was for today, Friday. I had to call her from a different number just to get her to pick up. When I respectfully pointed out her lack of communication, she got defensive, claimed I was “hounding” her, and made the whole thing about her instead of just doing her job. The final straw? Great, quiet place to live. The landlord Claudine is nice and constantly makes sure the units are in prime condition. Any problem you have will quickly be resolved with one phone call or visit. She loves her job and you can definitely tell. She is a landlord and angel. I would strongly recommend Lakeview to anyone looking for affordable housing in Oakland.

Great location for a great price. The property manager (Claudine) is amazing and makes herself available! She makes sure the tenants are taken care of with repairs, mail that comes in, and question/concerns. I recommend Lakeview Apartments 100%

We’ve been living here for 10+ years and we love it here. Great location. Walking distance to everything. The property manager, Claudine has been awesome. She’s always friendly and any problem we have had has been quickly attended to.

A Lake Merrit gem. If you want to be right outside the scene this is the place. Neighbors are friendly and dogs are friendly. More importantly the property manager Claudine is heaven sent! I could go on and on. She’s everything you would want in a property manager. She goes above and beyond.I’ve never met a property manager more honest, trustworthy, and extremely accommodating. If I had anything I needed done she was on top of it. Maintenance guy is also awesome.
