I rented from Jones for 3 years. They often expressed little urgency in issues, including spending 5 weeks repairing mold in the basement which required a roommate to live in another room. We went without a furnace multiple times, without a washing maching for at least 2 months, and with consistent insect issues. These were all reported through emails, calls, and texts. Frequently, these communication channels would be ignored, and sometimes we would receive outright lies of "we're on our way" and nobody would show up for days. This was not terrible, it was just bad. This would have warranted a 2 star review. The final straw was this last month, in the last 2 months of our lease. Jones Properties is one of the best in Ann Arbor for student housing, as this was my experience. Even at short notice, if we needed anything or if something had broken, a worker was at our door ASAP. The landlord was very polite and made sure our needs were always met. Also on a high note, the houses are gorgeous!

The absolute best property owners in Ann Arbor. I have lived in many places over my four years here and no apartment building or other landlord compares. Service is perfect and excellent. Any time there is a problem, a maintenance person is at the door within the hour. The emails are always filled with tricks and tips on how to stay safe in the weather. They really are a family and treat their tenents as the same. 10/10.

We signed a lease and handed over a security deposit -- then were informed that there was a miscommunication and actually the apartment had been reserved for another group (and the person we met for the lease signing thought we were them??). Even though the other group hadn't even signed a lease yet and we had, Jones nullified our contract (because they hadn't signed it). They gave us our security deposit back and were apologetic, but it was overall a really bad experience that left us scrambling for housing.

I used Jones Management for over 4 years to manage an apt house downtown. They routinely overcharged me on maintenance, lowering my return. For example, one day I arrived at my 6 unit apt building to find a disheveled man with a broom on the porch. I watched him sweep the front porch into the basement courtyard. He spent one minute there. I asked, who are you? He said he was with Jones. So this useless kid who didn’t even have a dustpan was generating scam money for Jones, pretending to do “maintenance.” Jones charged me almost twenty thousand dollars in one year on repairs he didn’t do. When I asked for a tour of the property to show what work he did for 20k, Jones came over but could not show the work. He even admitted it, saying maintenance is where they make money. The company
