We have lived at the Hencen for about 8 months now and our experience has been very positive. Our 2 bedroom apartment has a nice layout and seems to be decent quality. We've had a few maintenance issues pop up, but the team has always been very prompt with their repairs (shoutout to Nelson for his awesome work!). Amenities are great and well maintained - love having the herb garden to pick from on the rooftop. The cleaning crews keep the place looking tidy and the office staff is very eager to help with anything you need. The building sits on Hennepin & Central, so you're going to hear some noise from the street - this is the tradeoff for having so much convenience nearby. Occasionally we'll also hear noise from next door or below, but it's an apartment so that's going to happen from tim
Hencen is a beautiful, immaculate property with so many unexpected features beyond their state of the art apartments. They offer a well equipped gym, sauna, meeting rooms, comfortable lounging spaces with fireplaces and equipped kitchen/ living room areas available for entertaining. They even offer welcoming outdoor rooftop space with fire pits, grills and pet areas. Oh yes, and free espresso to make enjoying these extra amenities just that much nicer.
I have been living in the Hencen for 2 months and I'm very disappointed how the Hencen management has handled security/safety issues. The building itself is not secured nor safe. Outside individuals are often wandering in the lobby. Not talking about the supposed private parking lot. One outside individual (not a Hencen residents) was trying to steal my car. The situation could have escalated into something far more serious if I was not able to defend myself. The team management did not do anything about it because according to them they "cannot guarantee against isolated incidents involving personal vehicules". This situation was involving far more than my car, it was about resident safety. Please if you're an isolated woman do not choose this condo to live. It is not safe for you and the
I had no issues with management, the amenities, or with maintenance. But I cannot recommend anyone live here for the simple reason that an apartment building should never have been zoned here in the first place, this is NOT a residential area. There will be cars driving by at 1 AM on a Tuesday blasting their music at full volume, shaking the entire apartment; this is not a rarity, but a regular occurence. If your unit is on the northeast side, expect to hear music from Latin Conga Bistro until 2 am on every day of the week, Sundays included. If your unit is near the top floor, or it faces the alleyway instead of the street, you might have a pleasant stay. But otherwise you should prepare to not have any real sleep for the duration of your lease.
This has been the most miserable experience we have ever had in our entire lives. I don't think I have ever lived in a worse place. This building is designed only to maximize profits, the needs of the tenants do not matter at all (e.g., very small bedrooms, very thin walls, minimal parking, etc.). Their goal seems to be to use all the spaces possible to create apartments and parking, it doesn't matter if these end up being at the limit of tolerability for their tenants. But let's get to our experience: a two-bedroom apartment (just hypothetical...). Master bedroom with HVAC system... what a bad luck... the system was very close to the head of the bed and therefore to our ears... the room was too small to place the bed differently... the choice was between being woken up all the time or suf
