Glencoe Oaks Apartments

We like it, but parking is awful and it’s too expensive for the issues you deal with. The staff have changed a lot but I think they’re getting better. There was a fire recently, no letter to the residents or explanation to why, but the folks in the first floor apartments assume it has to do with someone using a space heater cause the first floor is always freezing. Certain Staff are pretty confrontational, that’s definitely true. But not all. The buildings weren’t put together quite right and were clearly poorly maintained the first few years. The maintenance staff seem okay except for, ironically the manager, who seems the most disinterested is helping. Strong potential with iffy management. The places are nicely designed beyond the major flaws. Still to high priced. The issues they need

Do not move here, my family has been constantly harassed by a neighbor downstairs for about 2 1/2 months now and nothing has been done. I have a 3 year old son and if he runs slightly even for a minute or two this lady downstairs calls authorities. I have shared my concerns with McKinley properties to no avail. This woman has even gone as far as to lie to authorities and tell them that she knocked on the ceiling and we stomped back. I have given her my number and it does not matter her only intention is to harassed me. When I reached out to figure out what was going on she mentioned terrorism. McKinley sits by idly and let's this go on, in fact they will email me with HER concerns and ignore mine. I l pay to live here. We are living and I'm being harassed for it!

I am a current resident and have only been here for 5 months and already looking to move. This is not a family friendly community. It is better described as a high priced college dormatory. There are more college students than families. I have been living under some inconsiderate students who thinks it's funny to drag furniture across the floor, stomp, slam things and walk hard just because they can knowing management won't say or do anything. They allow their dog, a large afghan/greyhound, to bark and romp all hours of the morning. They are loud/noisy well into the evening and start back at it early in the morning. Paying $1,800/month living amongst college students is not what I signed up for. Time to buy a house. My friend warned me about this place but I was relocating and running out

I have been living here for more than 8 months. Its super expensive. We are paying the amount expecting that In-unit lundry service is functional. For more than 2 months the Laundry service is not functional. Neither maintainance nor the management pays attention to any of the issues seriously. In absence of proper maintenance, I don't think it's worth to pay such high price for the units.

The office staff is very confrontational. They don’t communicate within the office staff at all, and the staff rotates constantly. They don’t enforce the rules on their lease, and get extremely irritable if you try to hold them accountable. They insist Great Lakes Security patrols here, but when we called GLS about a problem, they had trouble even finding the Oaks property. This isn’t an honest company, take your money elsewhere!
