Gateway to Gruene

I've rented multiple apartments & homes, and Gateway to Gruene has BY FAR been my ultimate favorite! The property is well maintained, and the amenities are always clean. I love coming home here after a long day.It is such a peaceful place for me to call home. My leasing agent, Josh ALWAYS helps me whenever I say the word, greets me, and informs me what food trucks are coming instead of the lame emails! THIS IS A COMMUNITY<3

PROS: Really nice office staff. Modern and new units. Fantastic gym. Great location. Good Amenities. Reasonable rent. CONS: Lots of dog noise. Dog feces smell is so bad, I can't open my windows or use my balcony. Also, I have to hold breath when entering the stairwell. I will be moving for this reason alone. Management fines offending dog owners, yet still the cloud of fur-person stank billows up from below.

Just a heads up for parents considering living here. The apartments are currently zoned to Goodwin Frazier Elementary, not Hoffman Lane Elementary as the website may still show. I wanted to mention this so future tenants with kids can double-check school zoning before moving in. That said, the maintenance team at Gateway to Gruene went above and beyond. Leilden and Gillian were professional, respectful, and genuinely helpful. They took care of everything quickly and even removed my old broken TVs for me, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to get this level of service from a maintenance team, and they made the whole experience completely stress-free. Highly recommend them.

This community is brand new and just a short drive to Gruene, which sounds great at first. Unfortunately, the residents and lack of enforcement make it look and feel unpleasant. It's supposed to be non-smoking, but there are cigarette butts everywhere, joints tossed on the ground, and the smell of weed constantly in the hallways and stairwells. Yes, your neighbors can smell it. Residents don't clean up after their dogs, and neither maintenance nor the landscaping crews bother picking it up. The leasing office sends reminder emails, but nothing ever changes because no one is actually held accountable. And forget about breed restrictions. There are many aggressive breeds here. Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, and Huskies. On top of that, the bug problem is out

Gateway to Gruene has been an amazing place to call hom. The apartments are modern, super clean, and feel really open with all the natural light. It’s also surprisingly quiet here, which makes it easy to relax after a long day. The location couldn’t be better , close to everything in New Braunfels but still has that peaceful, tucked-away vibe. The leasing team is awesome too. They’re friendly, quick to help, and genuinely care about the residents. Move-in was a breeze, and they’ve been great ever since. If you’re looking for a comfortable, well-kept place to call home, this is definitely it!
