Customer Reviews
The actual apartment units are ok. The maintenance staff responds to work orders quickly and does the best they can with little support from the corporate landlord owners. You are paying for the proximity to a grocery store, mass transit, and entertainment. The main elevator was broken more often than it is working during the summer. You can only access the building by a stairway that reeks of pee and has burnt out lights, another staircase that is inaccessible after 7pm or the elevator that is blocked off whenever someone moves in or out of the building. You can’t use the bike room because there is so much theft. Don’t worry, Upper management/ the corporate overlords are THINKING about improving bike room security so someone can’t pry the “secured” bike room door open with a crowbar. Get
We've enjoyed living at East End the last few years. The community is great and friendly. There are always monthly events that the property staff host or make us aware of. The location could not be better with Trader Joe's & Jimmy Johns right there. The staff is always attentive to issues as they arise. There have been issues with the elevators in the past, but those issues have been put to rest (knock on wood).
UPDATE-July 2021 Ana has been a great property manager and we are very happy with East End! They had a nice BarBQ recently catered by Umbra. The resident activities are fun and there is a really nice vibe here :) So far so good!! We signed the lease in Jan. 2021. The application process went smoothly and the apt. is in great shape and quiet for downtown living-facing the inner courtyard and pool area. Abbey Martinson (Sr. Leasing Consultant) and Ana Orrison (Property Manager) have been so very helpful throughout this process. The apartment finishes are really nice with melamine closet shelves (not wire), French-door refrigerator, full-size dishwasher, full-size washer and dryer, vent fans in the bathrooms, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The thermostat, living room ceiling light and nu
Final update 2/2026: It’s finally time to move out! Since my last update, there have been ongoing safety concerns with downtown protesters. This is right along a major route that protesters march through. We had SWAT lock down Chicago Ave and 3rd St. while hearing nothing from management. Afterwards, an email was sent out about increased security patrol presence. I’ve only ever seen them at the Sherman associates owned hotel next door to us. We used to have a full time security guy in the lobby in 2024 but never seen again. While they said extra security was hired, I’d never seen a soul down there. Additionally, when a planned protest is scheduled in the area, the leasing office closes and management LEAVES for the day. I understand that safety and security of office personnel are imperati
Lived at East End for 4 years. The place continues to go downhill in terms of management, security and maintenance. Pro: loved my actual apartment; the layout and location in the building. Rarely had any issues w/in the apartment itself. Pro: Trader Joes being in the building. That convenience alone kept me at East End. Will miss that! Major Con: if you prefer to have reliable, working elevators look elsewhere. The management team knows how to dole out the "appreciate your patience" and "sorry for the inconvenience" but never find an actual solution. Con: don't expect a lot of staff presence in the main entrance/lobby/leasing office area...usually closed or understaffed. The UPS driver stuck a note on one of the leasing offices stating "LIARS" because no one was around in the middle o
