Lived on the lofts side for one year. Positives: Lofts being an old building that was renovated created very quiet apartments, sound travel between units was minimal compared to other apartment buildings, including the flats side. Generally pretty responsive when we had a concern, and were good about repairs when we needed them. Staff on site were friendly. Negatives: Clearly the ownership is about profits above anything else, which to be fair, who isn't these days. The issue, it causes the place to feel a little cold, and I just got a sense that there wasn't much care about the best for the residents, rather it was more of an ethic of "good enough" for the residents, as long as they keep paying. We lived at C&E for two years and had a great experience there. Property managers (Clare & Julianne) were outstanding - they hosted fun events for residents, gave our dog lots of treats, always responded promptly & professionally when we had questions or requests, and they genuinely give it their all to make C&E feel like home. Maintenance staff is also top-notch. The amenities are excellent and well-maintained, especially the gym. The residents were respectful and the location is very convenient being near 280 & 94 on University Ave.

As I write this review, I have to preface with the fact that I haven't lived in this community since the end of April 2019, so things may have changed since I moved out. Overall, the building itself is absolutely gorgeous. I love that they focus on sustainability in the materials used in the Flats portion of the community, and that the design throughout the community is minimalistic and intentional. When I first arrived at this community, Sophie was my leasing agent and she was AMAZING, so it was hard to see her leave the team. Management was a struggle intermittently throughout my lease period after her departure, but improved significantly towards the end of my stay, which was a positive! If I could give 10 stars I would. For context, I never ended up living here, but my entire process of applying, being accepted, and preparing to move in was nothing short of spectacular. Julianne is a gem who remembered my name from the phone number alone, and we had been in contact for months prior to our final decision to live elsewhere (only decided on because of an outside circumstance). In the future if its ever possible I won't need to search for a new complex, because C&E will be the top of my list. Kudos to their personable management, professional operations, great prices, and beautiful apartments. They are incredibly inviting, and willing to answer the questions that you have, helping you feel truly valued.

We lived here one year and generally enjoyed it. > Pros: Leasing process was easy. Good spaces and amenities. Management is responsive and easy to work with. Generally happy with our unit, never had any issues requiring maintenance or repairs. Love the gym space, lots of equipment. Excellent location between Midway and Northeast, easy to get around via adjacent freeways. > Cons: The parking garages are NOT secure. Bikes regularly get stolen, even when locked with heavy duty U-locks and cables. I’ve had my bike and accessories stolen on three occasions within 1 year. Store your bike in your unit if you want to keep it. Also car break-ins have happened inside the garage. There are no security cameras in the garages and management has not made any security enhancements despite these recurr
