Blackhawk Apartments

The overall appearance of the apartment isnt bad. It needs some work but my biggest issue is i just moved in and there isnt any hot water. I talked to maintenance about it and he said there is only 1 hot water heater for 4 units and sometimes you have to wait for hot water. I waited 13 hours and still no hot water. I had to go elsewhere just to take a shower. Not a good impression. First night there and i couldnt even take a warm shower. After 9 long miserable months of living in the apartment they have done almost no maintenance. I went my first 2 weeks with almost no hot water, 7 weeks without a working a/c unit, holes in the window screens that wete big enough a bird could fly in so i ended up replacing them out of my pocket because they wouldn't fix the a/c or window screens, 5 we

If I could give less than one star, I would. Apartments for people with disabilities but the walks aren’t shoveled nor are the steps. It’s unsafe. Illinois smoke free act/LAW, and yet my neighbor smokes so much, the smoke comes through the vents and my apartment smells like an ashtray. I have a lung disease and management doesn’t seem to care. I’ve sent repeated texts and emails to management and corporate. The lock was never put on my screen door nor was the return mechanism to shut the door. My kitchen window is missing a screen. Sad sad sad. Look elsewhere. The only good point, it’s cheap. You get what you (can’t) pay for.

Yeah, when I first moved in, there was no hot water and the floors have yellow stains on them and I’ve tried everything to get them off. Cupboards were dirty. I mean it wasn’t even moving ready and I think the carpet in here is what was first in here and it’s horrible man with allergies and that coughing and hacking all night because of it. I can’t sleep and I just don’t fit in I guess because these older people got their little clicks how they all sit down at the corner out there with their beer and their cigarettes and talk about everybody in the building. They said I had somebody living with me I live by myself They don’t get around and do nothing neither somebody tried to break into my door Let management know nothing was done about it so I had a friend fix it So I could shut my door
