Zick Apartments

Homeless man lived in a common area for weeks. During my 18 month stay at Zick Apartments I smelled smoke coming from the basement and found a homeless man smoking cigarette. I was told by the cops and a company representative that there was evidence he’d been there for a while based on how many personal items he had stashed around. He felt at home enough to smoke a cigarette, so probably weeks at least and possibly months. With Zick Apartments and Black Swan you get the safety of a crack house and the overbearing surveillance of a college dorm. There is a halfway house just 1 block away from here, and they use 4-digit codes for all the doors here. That’s the same security level as an iPad. I asked them to change it to a 6-digit code after the homeless guy and they said no because too man

I never write reviews, but this experience at this apartment building, & with this management has been HORRIBLE. I started renting a studio at the Zick apartments in July of 2022, & my lease just ended on January 31st. I had no walk through with anyone prior to moving it other than a showing to see if I'd be interested. They were in the middle of "remodeling/updating" the unit. Upon move in the only think "updated" was the floor that was just sanded. I let a lot go while living in this apartment & tried to remain understanding that things would happen in such an old apartment building. Wallpaper randomly peeled off & when they came to "fix it" they just ripped it off & left it saying they would come back to paint....never did, but again only cosmetic & I let it be.
