I moved out 6 years ago due to a domestic violence situation and as a single mom I’m trying to rent a new place and I have been trying to contact someone to pay the housing debt and no one will return my call. I now have 2 days to provide proof of payment plan and I don’t know what to do. I shouldn’t have even had to pay anything considering it was a domestic violence situation but I need help. I’m thinking of going to the office tomorrow morning. This is ridiculous.

I moved into an old Section 8 building on Etiwanda Ave in Reseda around April 20. From the first month, I received an extremely high water bill, completely unreasonable for a single person who works full-time and is rarely home. The building has no water submeters, and despite multiple emails and letters asking how charges are calculated, Yale Management never responded. Neighbors confirmed that everyone receives similar bills regardless of usage. The on-site manager, Magi, is rude, unprofessional, and often threatens tenants by saying she will report them to Section 8. She eventually blocked my number instead of addressing my concerns. I had a very disappointing experience with this property/management. After moving out, I still haven’t received my security deposit refund within the legally required time frame. I provided all necessary information and followed every step, but communication has been extremely slow and unprofessional. Even when I contacted the office directly, I received vague answers and no clear timeline. At this point, it feels like they are simply avoiding responsibility. This is not how a professional property management company should operate. I would not recommend renting from them. Make sure to document everything if you choose to deal with this place.

This is the most predatory management company I have ever had to work with. They never cleaned our apartment before move-in, yet charged us for cleaning after move-out even though it was left sparkling. The building manager refused to speak to us in person. Maintenance and response rate were poor at best. If you can, avoid renting through this company. Never in my whole adult life have I ever experienced such terrible management of a property.

I have lived in one of the apartments managed by this company since 2015. We live in Villa Valencia, and it has been an excellent experience. The apartments are spacious and well-designed, providing plenty of comfort and room. What really stands out is the management, it is exceptional. Any requests or concerns are handled quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. It’s clear that the company values its residents, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well-managed, comfortable place to live.
