Winter Park Apartments

Moved here because I didn't have time to find another place quickly. It's a very ghetto area. Walk my dog and find needles on the ground, a bunch of drunks live here and walk around hollering and peeping at any woman in the area. The apartment have leaks in the ceiling and roaches that will not go away because they are not consistent with pest control. All they want is your money and ignore how you feel. It's cheap rent because you get what you pay for...a cheap, run down place to live. Not the best area.

I lived here n the management do not care about your well being. I started off with a studio apt n it was infested with roaches like crawling in the bed in ur cabinet everywhere. It was unbearable. I went to the landlord because my gf at the time got pregnant n told them there is no way I could have them living there not with the roaches and space so I was moved to a 1 bedroom where I didn’t bring anything but clothes no furniture n it was worse. I was 19 making little to no money so I never even had food to cook but I could clean and leaving roaches were meeting in different spots of the apt. I begged to talk to the owner n when finally able to talk to him he said this is huntsville you’re going to have bugs. Looking for four stars apartments in the ghetto? You must see the Winter Park. I found this one online and drove from Columbus GA to have a look. Warning: the dwellers on Newson Road can turn you off real quick, stay calm! The complex looked better than I had expected; grounds clean and green, the century old buildings were, for the most part well maintained inside out. Ample parking spaces, ample rooms inside with BIG closet. PRO: better than average management and maintenance crews, cheap rent, security lights on/in buildings, and pretty natural areas. CON = none. C'mon people this is not Trump Plaza! My one month experience tells me that I got the most for my money here.

Price is cheap-ish. Its in the guetto so can't expect much BUT my biggest problem is that NO MATTER HOW CLEAN YOUR APARTMENT IS you WILL have cockroaches. you just will. i have no food out ever, get sprayed all the time, and they are everywhere. im scared to leave food alone on a counter for more then a few seconds because i don't want one to crawl in. don't live here unless you really can't afford anything else. besides the cockraoches .. they have been "okay" in fixes maintenance problems. The people in the office is decently nice as long as you have manors to them in return. and if you live in the very back on the apartments, you WILL get stuff stolen. i live in the very front and have a street view, and my sister lives in the back. the back is worse. she put flowers pots at her front d

PROS: you will have no need to pay for cable tv as you have "cops" the show for free outside your window. Bust out that lawn chair you’re using as a dinner table seat, grab some boxed wine 🍷 and enjoy the free show. CONS: You might die walking to your vehicle or opening your door. I wasn’t joking bout the last part.
