Windsor Winchester Apartments

I've lived at Windsor Winchester for almost 3 years, and things have gone downhill badly since the new Windsor management took over in September '25. The leasing office staff are rarely available and refuse to answer basic questions unless you schedule an appointment, even when they are sitting in the office. An elevator has been broken for 3+ months. There have been car theft from the locked garage, mailroom theft, and even squatters in vacant units. There is essentially ZERO security on the property. Common areas are poorly maintained, the pool is often disgusting, and management seems completely indifferent. They're only responsive when you're signing or paying lease. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but the team at Windsor Winchester truly deserves recognition. From day one, Emily in the leasing office made this one of the best rental experiences I’ve ever had. She was thoughtful, patient, and genuinely invested in helping me find the right apartment, not just filling a unit. She walked me through every step of the process, answered all of my questions, and made the paperwork completely seamless. In the past, I’ve dealt with leasing offices that were difficult, slow to respond, or made things feel unnecessarily complicated. This was the exact opposite. Emily made everything smooth, clear, and stress free. That level of service is rare, and it did not go unnoticed. I also want to give a huge shout out to the maintenance team, Preston, Hector, and John.

We originally signed our lease when the property was still managed as Hanover Winchester, and right before our move-in, the management switched to Windsor Winchester. I was honestly nervous after seeing some of the older reviews on Google — but moving in under the new management turned out to be the best-case scenario. From day one, the new team has been responsive, proactive, and genuinely caring. I’ve been a resident at Windsor Winchester Apartments for two years, and during that time I’ve had a consistently positive experience. From day one, the property has been clean and well cared for. The landscaping always looks fresh, the hallways and common areas are tidy, and the overall community feels safe and inviting. The location is one of the biggest advantages of living here. You’re close to everything — shopping centers, grocery stores, gyms, restaurants, and major freeways. Whether I need to run errands or commute across the South Bay, everything is just minutes away. I recently toured a couple of 1-bedroom apartments at Windsor Winchester, and I had a great experience. Emily, the tour guide, was incredibly positive and thorough. This community was previously operated by Hanover, and I had seen some concerns online related to the former management. I specifically asked Emily about this, and she clearly explained the changes Windsor has made since taking over. From what she shared (and what I saw during the tour), many of the issues people mentioned under the previous management have been addressed and resolved. Overall, the property felt well-maintained and much improved under Windsor’s management. If the unit I’m interested in becomes available, I’ll be moving in very shortly. Definitely worth checking out if you’re apartment hunting in San Jose.
