Our Experience with Whitestone "Custom" Homes: A Cautionary Tale We engaged with Whitestone for what was supposed to be a custom home build, expecting a tailored service given their reputation. However, our experience turned out to be anything but custom or satisfactory. Initial Problems: - The salesperson, whose name starts with a 'J', admitted to showing up for a crucial meeting hungover, which set the tone for the subsequent interactions. - Initial plans were riddled with errors; missing multiple items and incorrect specifications. - Key dates were consistently missed, and constant follow-ups were necessary just to get updates. I like my house. But there are issues. And these issues have not been resolved and have been going on for the duration of my home ownership, which is basically 3 years at this point. I have warranty claims that weren’t resolved. Sales process was fine, communication was inadequate, but we got it done. Becky was great with our modifications and getting us pricing. The interior design process was nice with the third party they selected. Some of the base level stuff was oddly cheap, such as carpet. Construction process was relatively straightforward and on time. During the construction, the lot, house, etc. was filthy. There was trash everywhere, and not just construction debris, food trash, people leaving BBQ messes in the back area, piles of garbage blowing around. Lots of errors that had
