Affordable for the area and surprisingly quiet! I moved in here last month and like it a lot. The buildings are old as are many of the houses in the neighborhood and it is blessedly quiet- all I hear are birds. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the light rail station, supermarket, gas stations and restaurants. The maintenance and office employees are very nice and attentive. I love that the laundry room uses a prepaid card - no more quarters!! There is one corner where homeless people hang but I haven't had any issues with them and it's Seattle, so what are you gonna do? The views from the back are amazing and the parking is too ;)

I wasn't ever planning on reviewing my own place of living, but alas the day has come. I might've rated the place worse but hey man..it's a roof over my head, and one of the only affordable convenient locations in Seattle. Between me housesitting for my aunt for 6 years ,and me living here for 3 years I thought I was a patient guy I really did ,but here we are. Sighh. I can handle the miniscule kitchen, I can handle the sparse parking, maybe even the trash pickup and crowdedness , but for the LOVE OF TALOS WILL SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THE EFFIN LAUNDRY SITUATION! I wouldn't even know the name of That fictional god in skyrim if i wasnt playing so much with the time i have from NOT BEING ABLE TO DO LAUNDRY ! I'm a single guy living alone with no kids and only like 6 outfits total! Including unde

The apartment at first seemed very neat and affordable. Even though it looks pretty generic outside, there is certain vintage charm on the inside (big windows, tall ceilings, gas stoves, claw foot tubs). This means no modern amenities (which i was completely comfortable with). However, the building is very poorly maintained. There is excessive water damage that has never been managed properly, so it is heaven for black mold, and it is growing there like it's getting paid for it! We used to have sewer problems as well as water pressure issues. The hallway carpet is dirty and gets vacuumed once a month; they shampooed it recently and the smell of soaked dog piss was beyond intoxicating. They also have bug problems, both cockroaches and bed bugs favor these premises. They are not easy to get

This place hasn't really gotten any better since 2008 so if you're hoping four years of waiting has made the place a little better to live in, think again. Felicity, the main building manager, can still be rude and standoffish. They still have roaches. I generally keep a very clean home, and I have seen at least eight roaches as long as my thumbnail scuttering across my carpet, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, and in the entrance hallway. However, they do have a pest control guy on stand-by at no charge to you the tenant, just make sure to call them and inform them of the pests immediately. The water tanks are old. Good luck getting hot water quickly within ten minutes. Considering there are no dish washers in the units, this bothers me, because I never feel like my dishes are clean

Please know what you're getting before renting here. The buildings are old. I mean nearly a century old. Therefore modern amenities are sparse due to plumbing and electrical issues. The management has also changed frequently. However, the most recent team, T.J. and Debbie are considerate, like their predecessors, but they are also action-oriented. Maintenance requests have been taken care of in a timely manner as there is a new maintenance team. In fact, a tree fell in the morning, a beloved cherry tree, and it was cleaned up upon coming back in the afternoon (save the wood chippings). Could it be better? Sure. I'd recommend building stand-alone decks for apartments or community grilling spaces, laundry facilities in the basements of every building, dishwashers in some units, and perhaps
