Updated Review: I called the office only to find out our property was sold without any notice to the residents. Our work orders, lease renewals, etc. are done without any heads up from Waller Group. Updated Review After 9 Months: The only peace I have had living here is when the building was almost completely vacant. After several emails about a neighbor that continues to smoke cigarettes inside the building have gone unanswered I decided to start calling instead, nobody answers the phone or returns emails. The lease I signed clearly states smoking indoors is a lease violation and grounds for eviction. Apparently that doesn’t matter because nothing is actually being done about it. Bad mismanagement and very poor updating/improving of units. They have had multiple issues with the tenant pay portal. Sent out emails saying they lost the last 4 month's rent and required everyone to send receipts to confirm they had made payments. They have also accidentally applied fees/extra charges on my account on 2 separate occasions. While I do admit they were quick to fix these issues another problem I've ran across is the very poor upkeep and refurbishing jobs within the units. Apartments that were $600 a month were slapped with a new coat of paint and then upcharged to $1000+. 30-year-old AC units, old Water heaters, outdated/out of code electrical features, poor carpentry and sealing were all overlooked. I use to live in some apartments they purchased. Once my lease was up they raised the price of rent to almost double. Mind you the apartment I was living in was built in 1985 and everything and I’m not exaggerating on the EVERYTHING was outdated. Appliances hardware light fixtures and the list goes on. I was told the apartment was going to be renovated and everything updated but they wanted me to move out then move back in when it was done. I now have a friend that lives in the same exact apartment that use to live in and they didn’t do half the things they said they were going to do to them. I would highly recommend not moving into a walled group owned property. I had to threaten a lawyer just to get my deposit back and that took almost a month to get back. Property was sold out from underneath tenets with 0% notice whatsoever. Any time I’ve tried to communicate with the company I never got replies back or the help I needed. Gave me paperwork that basically doubled my rent with a 10 day deadline (out of nowhere). I’m just very thankful that the lord blessed me with a decent job I feel really bad for all the elderly on fixed income/ families with multiple children. Seems like a dirty business practice.
I live in Chalet apts owned by Waller group, amazing property but terrible neighbors and issues between tenants are handled poorly by management. I have been disputing a noise complaint issue with another tenant for months now, and it seems the front office has limited ability on what they can do. The noise is driving me so crazy I’m ready to end my lease early and find an apt with some peace and quiet. I wish I could give them 5 stars because everything else is truly great, but I’m so frustrated that I can’t be comfortable in a place I work so hard to pay rent for.
