My family and I are local Hawaiians, quiet and respectful tenants who paid on time and cared for the property. None of that mattered. We didn’t see a drop of our security deposit, and Gwen, the owner, treated us with nothing but disrespect. This company preys on tenants and operates without any sense of integrity. But this is Hawaiʻi—people like this don’t escape consequences. The island spirits see everything, and those who take advantage of others here will face what’s coming for them. Wish I could give -100 stars. Worst worst worst service ever. Gwen doesn't know anything about leasing and drags her feet to get anything done. Not a single ounce of urgency. Takes days and days to return your text or calls. Wants you to email her instead cause its more convenient for her. Then when you do email her, it takes so much time to respond. We saw a house they had rented online. We saw it. We applied. They wanted 2 years business tax returns after the fact. I was willing to send them cashed draw checks, profit and loss and 3 months bank statements. Keep in mind the income is 300 times what the rent is not to mention my personal income. This is insane. Acting like we are buying the place not renting it. Keep in mind the rent is $4000 a month. LOL. After this we went bac

Extremely unprofessional and very greedy. I rented from them for 2 years, gave 45 days notice of me leaving, then when I got my deposit back, they had kept 90% of my money! When I asked why, they said "they had to wait 2 weeks for a cleaning company to clean my unit" and that those 2 weeks were deducted for "rent" even though I wasn't living there anymore! I had given them long enough notice to find a cleaner, yet they made me pay for their procrastination and laziness. Gwen is also the WORST to work with. I caution anyone who decides to rent from them: good luck getting your deposit back when you leave.

We didn't even get to finish our application process and I had a bad experience with Waikiki Realty. First they didn't reply to 2 of my inquiries about setting up a viewing for the Mapu lane house in Liliha. I did that with the property owner's son who took initiative on that. Then they told the owner that we didn't have money to rent the place, which was a false accusation. I told her that we couldn't move in right away because we have to give our 30 day notice to our current property managers to ensure that we get our deposit back. We also requested to have 2 more applications sent to us for our adult children who work and will be living with us. Gwen agreed to mail them to me, but 3 weeks later we never received anything. Where to even start. I cannot in good faith recommend this company to anyone. It has been nothing but headache after headache. We’ve caught them in flat out lies on multiple occasions, they make a multitude of excuses as to why they never returned your phone call, it takes weeks to months for them to rectify any situation that arises. They will tell you it’s an employees fault that no longer works there when in reality it seems to just be severe mismanagement and a lack of professionalism. They don’t care about their tenants or home owners at all, only money. If you have a choice, go with another company for your own peace of mind.
