Villas of Ocean Drive

*5/30/25 Move-in day for our 20-year-old son. At 2:30 a.m. a couple woke us up arguing on the street for over 30 minutes. They leave, 2 police cars arrive, and we hear 4 gunshots. The police with lights and sirens tear off in their direction. I’d just asked Savanah (apartment manager) hours before, when I signed the year-long lease, whether crime was prevalent in the area and she said no. Then she added, “But, crime knows no zip code. *7/7 Our son heard his next-door neighbor’s Jeep alarm going off at 11 pm. This guy’s a former Marine who befriended our son, so he texts the guy and knocks on his door several times. Our son hears him yelling inside and asks if he needs help. He shouts YES! My son calls 911. He tells my son, “Now get away from the door or I’ll shoot you!!” My son called me.

Apart from management being closed on the weekends, this place leaves much to be desired. My rent for a one bedroom one bathroom apartment was about $1410 a month. What did I get for this price? Crumbling stairs, a neon green pool, and a police SHOOTOUT ON THE COMPLEX. This led me to break my lease and move because I was paying way too much money to be in the line of gunfire when in my own home. They made breaking my lease difficult, and milked me for every dollar they could. If you’re looking for a place to rent in corpus, STAY AWAY. You could get much better living for this price range.

Lived here for over two years. The first property manager was weird and kind of rude, but Savannah and Annette are both wonderful, and super helpful and friendly. Shout out to the maintenance team for being cool dudes and easy going; they do a lot around here and don’t get enough recognition. Thanks, yall!

We enjoy living here and appreciate Savanah, Annette, Marcus, and Mike. It’s great living in a community that works hard for their residents.

I lived at the villas for about 2 1/2 years. I can’t tell you what a wonderful experience it was. Jennifer is awesome! The maintenance staff is unbelievable! Always there for you right away if you have any issues. Which I had very few issues while I was there. It’s a very clean, quiet, well maintained complex in a great location! It’s a great value for what you get. I would not hesitate in picking the Villas of Ocean Drive for a future home!
