In short, don't live here, terribly overpriced, poorly maintained, dirty, smelly, unhelpful staff, inconsiderate neighbors, etc. I lived there for six years, was present when it sold to it's latest company and to no ones surprise it just continued to get worse and more expensive. It's a crappy apartment complex next to a run down outlet mall and a nascar track and they're convinced they've got prime real estate and can get away with it because Kansas has virtually no tenant protection laws. Every company that buys these properties claims they're going to do things differently, they always totally change out the staff and then just charge more for rent and do even less to keep the place respectable and clean. The woman I spoke to and took me on the tour was polite and assisted me to the best of her ability. However the apartment she showed me was in no way a "model." Other than the appliances in the kitchen it was empty. Also the cabinets and kitchen appliances were damaged in many spots. This did not give me a good first impression of the apartments and because of that I will not be applying to live there

I lived in this complex for a little over a year. THOUGHT it was going to be great, I started with getting sexually assaulted from the maintenance guy working at the time.. In person comments and he was texting me.. Birds were pooping ALL over cars everyday & the birds lived inside the inserts on the building so you can hear them in the buildings… People don't pay for carports and are parked under them daily & nothing happens to them.. Carpets in the buildings are probably the worst I've ever seen, DISGUSTING & smell terrible. It’s extremely embarrassing to have people over.. It’s not a building to live in and be proud of it… People are smoking cigarettes in the buildings so thats all you come home to smelling. I moved into a completely FLITHY apartment that I had to clean myself for hours

Summary: my bathroom flooded with sewage and I couldn’t stay in my apartment due to the smell. The apartment complex was very hard to reach and then argued with me about the cleaning that was initially provided was enough (when it was not and there was still specks of sewage seen throughout my bathroom). And then they lied to my insurance company saying this wasnt sewage and everything that was lost was not covered because of this. My bathroom flooded with sewage water coming out of my sink and they handled the situation horribly. This happened in a Friday night so we called the emergency maintenance line and one of the maintenance workers showed up 20 mins later to stop the water coming out of the sink. My entire bathroom flooded was covered in sewage water as well as part of my bedroom

Village West has been a great community living experience for my daughter and myself! The people and pets in the community are welcoming and very friendly along with all the staff of Village West!!! We’ve been here almost 4 years now and we love the clubhouse, gym, the swimming pool and surrounding area of Legends KC!!!
