Village Gate Apartments

I stayed at Village Gate Apartments for 3 years and 6 months, and it truly became home for me. One of the things I appreciated most is the strong sense of community with many fellow Filipinos living here, it felt like a small barangay away from home, which made my transition to the U.S. so much easier. The location is excellent,just a 5–7 minute walk to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, and close to all the establishments I needed, making daily life very convenient. The gated community always felt safe and secure, and the staff were consistently kind and professional. Special thanks to Colleen, the manager, who has always been approachable, helpful, and wonderful to work with. I would especially recommend this apartment complex to Filipino nurses coming to the U.S., since it’s so close to Cape F

I lived in the most modern, recently renovated 2 bd 2 bth apartments for two years and one month. In my time there, I had at least three different neighbors next door (make of that what you will). Here's my experience: The good - modern and clean. Convenient location in town. Mostly families from other countries working at Cape Fear hospital and some military couples. Gym is good, maintenance is friendly and effective (during scheduled hours exclusively - no after hours help, even for emergencies). The bad - Not as safe as you'd think. The gate is open all the time, and in my two years of living there we had car thieves caught on cameras (private cameras that were then reported to management - backwards in my opinion). Cops patrolled a few days after that. Management acts friendly to you

***Update from my original review...I have been reading some of the negative reviews & I have to say that I disagree with most of them. I have never had a bad experience since I moved in almost a year ago (I just signed a new lease for another year). I have never felt unsafe, if anything, I feel very safe living at Village Gate. The office staff is amazing & I can't say enough good things about the maintenance staff. I've not had any issues with car break ins or any other kind of negative actions or behavior. All of the tenants I have come in contact with are wonderful, friendly & seem to love living in Village Gate. I do a lot of walking on the trails & love to look at the beautiful landscape...it's immaculate...especially the pool area. I would recommend these "homes" to anyone looking f

I stayed here for 2 years and it was my first apartment since I moved from UAE. It was near to my workplace. When I had no car I used to walk from my apartment to work which was 10 minutes away. My place was spacious and quiet. I had a great time living there. The staffs are easy to approach with and will address the issue in no time. It is gated also so it is pretty safe. Honestly my experience just to view the apartment was very bad, the apartment was being almost four days straight, and was only able to see the unit the day when i am moving in, moreover, its the same day i learn that the master bed bathroom was outside the room. Finally got to see the unit, and it wasnt cleaned properly hair all over the floors and spider wides in the ceiling and behind the refrigerator wasn’t cleaned, i very disappointed for 4 days of clean. Thanks to Noelia for the exceptional customer service, thats what make the difference for me.
