DO NOT RENT HERE ! DO NOT RENT HERE ! Worst place I have ever lived I give this place a one star, They added these trash cans and they do not take them out I have seen the maintenance people who are supposedly responsible for taking out the trash and they only have one or two bags in there bins. They do not take out your garbage. The hallways will smell of garbage and rotten food. Do not trust this apartment as they say they have cameras but people are stealing your bike parts. I do not trust this apartment as they do not care unfortunately my partner and I will be looking for another place to live by the end of the year. if people are breaking in the bike Storage that supposedly locked that we need a key to get into. How do I know I’m not gonna get robbed when I’m not home for the week.

DO NOT RENT HERE. This property is a serious threat to your health, safety, and basic human dignity. I moved in June 2024, and I sincerely regret ever signing that lease. This place is not just mismanaged — it is dangerously neglected. In July, I found a nest of dead birds on the balcony, swarming with mites and insects that quickly infested the entire apartment. I reported it immediately. The office’s response? “Buy bleach.” No professional extermination, no cleanup — just blatant disregard. In August, they sealed all windows with plastic to paint the building — completely cutting off airflow and making it impossible to breathe. Then they began replacing the windows, causing chaos and structural damage. The result? Toxic mold began growing in the unit, destroying my belongings and putt

I want to take a moment to share how grateful I am for the help I received from Miah Quinonez, our leasing agent here at Verenda La Jolla. From the very beginning, she made the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. She was incredibly patient and kind, always taking the time to answer questions and guide us through the document process without ever making us feel rushed. What stood out the most was how thoughtful she was in making sure we felt comfortable every step of the way. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such genuine care, but Miah really did. Her support made such a difference, and I truly appreciate all the effort she put in. But most of all Verenda La Jolla is such a beautiful community.

Update: I didn't get my full deposit check back until 3 months after I moved out and six weeks after I informed them I'd never gotten it. After 11 ignored phone calls/emails about it, they insulted me for “resorting to” coming in with a formal demand letter stating I’d sue if they didn’t fully return my wrongly deducted deposit as well as listing the four civil code statutes they were violating that they'd ignored multiple emails about. Only saying I'd sue was finally enough for them to waive a bogus cleaning fee, though they insisted they wouldn’t change company policies to stop this from happening to other people. If you live here, make sure to know your rights, read up on their required duties (California civil code 1950.5), and take video/pictures of the apartment when you move in and

Update 5.8.24 If you request maintenance to fix your mold problems, most likely they'll just gloss it over with another coat of paint or caulk over it and not remove the old caulk nor treat the mold. This was what happened for me. They'll just spray it and wipe it down, but it doesn't solve anything. The last pictures are of under the kitchen sink and the corner of the shower. In the corner, you can see an attempt to paint over the mold. It's grown more and more, I've tried cleaning it. They came in to wipe it down as well. But it's harder to do especially if there are layers of mold that's been painted over and over. It took multiple calls and visits to get some paper work and information on pet policies and ESA. It's frustrating to have to ask multiple times for something to be fixed cor
