Vaughn Home Construction

I hired Vaughn Construction for several jobs one which included power washing, sanding and painting my deck and front porch. I have to say the other jobs were done more than satisfactorily. However, the front porch and deck lasted approximately 7 months and I was charged $5,900! I spoke with the project manager several times and although he promised to come back with the painters, he never did. A good contractor keeps his customers and obtains referrals by doing an excellent job on ALL projects, and by keeping his word. This contractor did not, and so I will never use them or refer them to anyone I know. A handyman can do the same or a better job and for a fraction of what I paid!

We hired Vaughn Home Construction (Eric Vaughn) for a renovation project at our family house in Hunter in August of 2020, which included obtaining required building permits from the town. The project was to take approximately 8 weeks to complete. After about 12 weeks and multiple emails/calls to Eric, the project was far enough along that we could use the rooms being worked on. As of 1/12/2022 the project has not been completed. We still do not know if permit(s) were ever taken out. Eric has become nonresponsive to our calls and emails. It is unfortunate because the work he did do is what we asked for and we are happy with. We are now left with an incomplete project and no one to speak for it.

About an year ago, I acquired a property in Windham that had a house built by Windham Mountain Retreat (WMR). After a while, I decided to add a detached garage to my property. Being very satisfied with the built quality of the house (I still am) it made total sense to contact WMR again for the job. Eric (one of the owners) referred me to Ray (in their office) who was very helpful in evaluating our options on where and how to build it. The final build worked very nicely given the land restrictions we had. The build process was entirely ran by Ray. I can’t highlight enough how smooth the build went under his supervision.
