Worse apartment I ever lived in! I had a terrible experience moving here, and I am living in disgusting conditions right now. I found dog poop all around the stairs I take up to my unit. I complained to management, and 10 DAYS LATER, they picked the poop, and still DIDN'T clean the stairs. The are flies eating up the poop and the smell is horrendous. Even from inside my bedroom, which as written in other comments, are terribly insulated. Every day I have sent written notice, sent pictures, videos, and even went in person to complain. This place is gross, don't move here. I don't care that it's cheap. In NC it doesn't matter the price you are paying for you rent, your landlord is obligated by law to provide you with a safe and health-hazard free environment. The WORST place ever!
Long review, but necessary. Management at this place is highly unprofessional, avoidant, and lacks urgency and motivation for anything. The Maintenance man at this place also is highly unprofessional, sloppy, rude and also lacks any urgency or follow up. It is clear they have zero no oversight. Calls? Emails? Won’t be responded to 90% of the your time here. You’ll have to be the one to stay on top of things they said they would take care, and follow up to get answers to any concern or issue. When you do that though, you’ll be gaslit. It’s unacceptable behavior. Maintenance requests took on average (I kid you not, I have receipts) two weeks to be responded to/taken care of. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY. I was a good tenant, always paid on time, clean and respectful. They charged me 2 rents when I moved out- so the prorated rent for the 6 days I was there in June and then an entire months rent while witholding my security deposit of $1700. So they say I owe them $1200. I have screenshots and proof of this being incorrect and they refuse to release the debt. So now I am unable to rent anywhere else. They are THIEVES. Go literally anywhere else. There was also MOLD in my kitchen cabinents that they let me and my little girl live in and when I put in a maintenance request all they did was paint over it. Also my car was broken into multiple times. Live literally anywhere else please.
I moved into Uptown Gardens in January of 2019. In my 3 months living here, I have had positive experiences with both the management and the maintenance crew. I also have found that Uptown Gardens is very affordable. I live in a 2 bedroom for the same price I used to pay for a 1 bedroom with half the square footage. Celina in the front office has always been very friendly and warm, and out of the probably dozens of maintenance requests I’ve had to submit in 3 months, Ben and Lenny have always come back however many times it takes to fix the issue. Where do I even begin? Let's rewind back to the beginning when I moved in. From the second I moved into this apartment it has been nothing but BS and run around lies. Not sure if anyone on the office side or corporate side understand how idiotic and backwards things are being ran. My first issue started when the pool remained closed for half of the summer. No reimbursement on community fees. Not sure how hard it is to shock a pool and get it up to safety standards. Second issue which never stopped. NO poop bags ever, yet you pay a convenience fee for your pet. Third issue, when I went to the gym, they had not one, not two, but ALL 3 ellipticals broken. It took 3-5 months to get those replaced. How hard is it to allocate money for replacing things that we pay an amenity fee for?? hmm....
