I am writing this review in enthusiastic praise of Updegraff Management, a company that has consistently demonstrated superior tenant service over the years. As a tenant at multiple locations managed by Updegraff, I have had the privilege of experiencing their excellent service firsthand. From the start of my tenancy, I was treated with the utmost professionalism, respect, and care by the Updegraff team. Their team is efficient, dedicated, and always puts the needs of their tenants first. Their properties are well-maintained, with great attention to detail, and any issues that do arise are dealt with promptly and efficiently. I rented a house from them. During the initial viewing, I specifically asked about rodent issues, and they said it has never been an issue there. They lied. The place was a rodent hotel. During about a one year period I caught 15+ rats, 20+ mice, and 7 bats (released the bats). Initially, I made requests for over a month until they sent an incompetent exterminator who was able to catch only one rat, and that was it. They never addressed the issue properly. For unimportant issues, the maintenance was responsive, but for important issues, including a water leak, they would just do a “quick fix” but never properly fix the issue because it would be costly. So I was constantly dealing with maintenance problems.

I've had a working relationship with the Updegraff Group for about 6 years now, beginning when I bought my first property in the City of Rochester back in early 2018. Mark's knowledge of the market and enthusiasm around what he does is what drew me to working with them initially. Fast forward to today, Updegraff manages several properties for my partners and I, totaling more than 20 units.
