DO NOT MOVE HERE! They will send you to collections for bogus charges months after you move out without even attempting to contact you. You can see this in previous Google reviews, and it also happened to a friend of mine who lived here. I moved out in October and just now received a mark on my credit report because of this building. Additionally, I experienced the following during my year as a tenant: First of all, they’re unresponsive during the initial period of trying to sign a lease. It was a big red flag that I had to follow up multiple times to get these folks to let them give me my money, but the bleak housing market left me feeling like I didn’t have a better option. The large main window in my apartment broke within a couple months of me moving in, and I was left to tape it sh
Find another place to live. The building and location is amazing - I've lived here for 6 years. But, the most recent (Greystar) and current property management (The Flats) companies are leading me to break my lease. Examples: I submitted a maintenance request for blinds of the only window in my unit on 7/11/2024. They were fixed on 7/10/2025 - 364 days later. Now, my apartment reaches 86 degrees with the heating unit off, blinds down, and the temp outside being in the single digits. I'm told "higher floors are warmer." I'm on the 7th floor; we're not a high rise. It's been nearly two months of me reporting this issue, and others, to the new management company. No one has even visited my unit to investigate.
1980 is on the Logan Square and Bucktown border, providing you with easy access to two of Chicago’s most unique neighborhoods. While there are many restaurants, bars, and activities within walking distance, the close proximity to the train and the bus allow you to very easily traverse to any location in the city in a short period of time. The blue line goes to the Loop where you have access to other trains, and it also goes to O’Hare International Airport, making travel to and from Chicago very accessible and easy. The 606 trail is also only a few blocks away and is great for running, walking, and biking. The units are beautiful! Each has a washer, dryer and great kitchen appliances. The views in both directions are also incredible. My unit faces the blue line, and while I was initially w
AM 1980 is such an amazing place to live! The management and maintenance staff are so friendly, take the time to get to know you, and if there's any issues they help take care of them in a timely manner. I have nothing but great things to say about this building. The location is also amazing. The blue line is around the corner which can take you into the city or straight to O'Hare. You're not far from some of the best food in the city by either going to Logan square or wicker park, both being equidistant. The amenities here are great, two peloton bikes in the spacious gym and the rooftop has the best unobstructed views of the city.
Do NOT rent here. I never leave reviews, but I am doing this to warn other people who are interested in this complex. When I was looking to rent here, I already had seen that reviews went down DRAMATICALLY when management switched over, but I was hopeful that it wasn’t that bad. Unfortunately, it was worse. After viewing the apartment, I was encouraged to submit an application before leaving the complex because “someone else would probably get it if I didn’t”. I gave them $500 for the admin fee and submitted an application. After asking several times about my application status, only TWO DAYS before my move in date I was told that my application didn’t meet requirements (for a self-employed individual, they were looking for $72,000 to be SITTING in my bank account). Since I had NEVER b
