The Travis Building

I rented an Airbnb for the week here. The main entrance is chained shut and padlocked from the inside. This is the only accessible entrance and exit to the building. The other two entrances require navigation of stairs. Furthermore, the stairways to the right of the elevator are filled with furniture, and it exits into an alley; however, the exit door is blocked from the outside by piles of furniture, and it appears the exit from the alley to the main street is locked. This, combined with a chained and locked main entrance/exit, make it a huge safety issue. It would be impossible to use these two exits during a fire. Great Location Near River Walk, But the Room Felt Too Cramped During our San Antonio River Walk trip, we stayed at a BnB in The Travis Building. The biggest plus of this place is the location. It’s very close to the River Walk, and almost everything is walkable. Having Dunkin’ right downstairs was also very convenient, especially in the mornings. Parking was adjacent to the building and felt secure, with direct access to the property. It costs $20 per day, which is reasonable for the area and added peace of mind. That said, the room itself was a letdown. It was essentially a studio converted into a 2-bedroom, which made the space feel very cramped. We rented airbnb. The apartment itself was clean, nicely furnished, and located in a convenient area for sightseeing and local attractions. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, although the floors—especially in the living room—creaked quite a bit. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by significant parking and security issues. Upon arrival, we discovered homeless individuals living on the parking level near the elevator closest to our assigned spot. Over our 4-day stay, they became more established, going from cardboard bedding to laying down carpet. Most concerning of all, our vehicle was damaged in what appeared to be an attempted break-in. I’m a new tenant and I absolutely love the space. The apartments are gorgeous! However, what truly sold me was the individuals working there. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Most of all, the property manager Bianca made my experience so seamless. She is by far the best property manager I’ve gotten to interact with since moving to San Antonio a few years ago. Thank you again Bianca for all your help!

Very nice building in the heart of San Antonio. The owner or owners paid attention to detail here to insure the history of the building was not changed but still provided modern amenities. Has an old world charm mixed with new world amenities. Very close to everything, views(river), coffee, great food and entertainment. Looked at many places and this location and building ticked all the boxes. Bianca (building manger) is very attentive and professional. Highly recommend if you are in the market for a new place to call home.
