The Retreat at Walnut Creek

Shasta was so helpful on my move into Walnut Creek. I had just got put on short notice from a different apartment building because of fire hazard so I had to leave on a short notice and she helped me get into this apartment with little to no stress. This place is doing awesome with new management and the awesome ladies working in the office!!!

We’ve been here almost 2 years. The first year was very rough. Poor maintenance, management, you name it. But new management took over and it has been really great since! Our lease renewal depended on how the new owners would be. And let’s just say we renewed. Joe and Olga have been so amazing! I haven’t had the pleasure of speaking with the other ladies just yet, but I’m sure they’re just as great! If there was something I could note is that our apt is still “old” I would love to have gotten a new unit, but I understand it’s a whole process. Also, the pet owners have a space for their dogs, but they don’t use it. Kinda sucks to step in dog feces when I’m out walking. There’s some upgrades my unit could definitely use, but we will get there when we get there. The updates to the whole area

Rebrand from The Commons at Water's Edge - new management's first project was a new coat of paint and cheap waste bins for everyone which ended up flying around the complex. Is more pushy about <24-hour notice visits with no flexibility for rescheduling and their security does not do anything about the non-residents roaming about the parking lot at late hours or the mail that is stolen frequently (see the USPS 2601 Courtright Rd reviews) One of the managers is unpleasant (big Ed's doppleganger) I've seen him yell at tenants while I would wait in line for other reports. They become angry when you raise any kind of concerns about excessive pest control scheduling which they will use against tenants who are clean but may have irresponsible neighbors - this leads to the selective enforcement

I was a tenant there, recently moved out due to job relocation. The new management is really doing a wonderful job updating everything & making it a nice place to live. Sad to leave!
