The Rent Experts

The Rent Expects started marketing a property I own for rent in Mobile, AL several months ago. They secured a renter Jan. 12, 2026. They collected the prorated rent for Feb. and then Jan. rent. I was told the rent collected would be processed by the 10th of each month and I would receive an email notice. I received their statement on Feb. 10th with their fees deducted and what my rent proceeds would be for. I contacted their office, they said I should receive another email showing the proceeds were being processed on the 10th of February 2026. It is now Feb. 12, 2026, and I haven't received any confirmation my rent proceeds would be made. Doug, the owner, was contacted and I still haven't had a response. Anyone who reads this I want you to know, sincerely from the bottom of my heart, entirely disregard any and all positive reviews about this property management company. I am nearing the end of my lease with them and I can not emphasize enough how much of a living hell they have made my life. From the application process to move in day, to the continued tenant-management relationship they have ensured every process was as difficult as possible. For starters, every time I call this place through the entire process it is nearly impossible to get someone on the phone, they ignore your calls when they know you’re having an issue and if they do call back they wait until 4:45 PM so they can tell you they will call you back tomorrow. My experience with this rental has been extremely disappointing. The management company was unhelpful and slow to respond to issues. Basic repairs were either ignored or poorly done, and the house was in terrible condition when I moved in—it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The property has ongoing bug problems, and the air conditioning struggles to keep the house below 78° in the summer. I would not recommend renting from this management company.
