The Overlook at Monroe Apartments

I REGRET moving here!! I moved into the apartments it was filthy.. I complained and then got hit with a uno reverse card they started making my life difficult harassing me about my service dogs.. even though all my paper work was in order.. they forced me to vaccinate my dogs to get the harassment to stop!! THE APARTMENTS ARE INFESTED WITH ROACHES AND BATS!!!!!!!! It’s nasty!! You can clean clean clean but that does nothing to the roaches!! The maintenance people are pretty chill and helpful!! Betty is HORRIBLE! I can’t wait for my lease to be up!! I’ll be back with more updates!!

I have lived in this complex for almost 12 years and since moving to the front It has been a quieter experience. I see the improvement efforts to keep our community clean and the attempt to maintain the amenities advertised. Whenever I have an issue in my home it is taken care of in a timely manner. If I had a concern it would be the darkness at night with in the halls and parking area. There are certain parts which are illuminated but not all and the lights in the hallways needs to be cleaned in order to be brighter. My over all experience at the overlook at monroe is homely and I feel safe in my apartment.

Horrible place, don’t move here. They are more worried about making the outside looking halfway decent but don’t do anything about the inside. The staff is not helpful, it’s not a safe neighborhood, we were charged for a pool for a whole year while it was not working. They painted the outside of the building and gave an increase on the rent. Every month you have to request pest control, and then pest control never shows up! Never been in an apartment complex that doesn’t do routine pest control. It’s like you go ask to be put on the list and they remove names off the list because pest control comes in the neighborhood but they only go where the list tells them to go. My experience has been phenomenal. Miss Vicky went over and beyond to ensure my sons and I had a place to live after being in the shelter for 2 1/2 months. The compassion, empathy and sympathy for our situation was beyond belief and beyond the explanation of words. Miss Betty assistancd Miss Vicky to make sure the process went quickly and less overwhelming for me. There's not a check big enough I can write or as many words in existence to explain the exhausting process that they endured for the sake of me and my children. I speak declare and decree victory over their lives and over the lives of the beings that they help. Maintenance made sure that the apartment was ready and livable for us. Whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE HERE! There are regular shootings and a murder occurred on the playground in April of 2022. The office management is extremely understaffed and unhelpful. We were promised to have security cameras put in place by December of 2023 and it’s the end of March, 2024, there are peeping toms throughout the complex, and the residents are not vetted properly at all. I have had an issue with mold throughout my apartment and I am going on week 3 with no response from anyone. When I told the person at the front office about the altercation that took place with a grown man and my 15 year old daughter yesterday they said they had nothing to do with it and that it was out of their control, even with a case number from Sanford PD and the footage from my ring camera.
