The Mill Apartments

Wish I could give a straight 2.5 down the middle but I can’t so I’ll err on the lower side. Lived at the Mill for ~3 years before moving out so will now share my honest thoughts. Pros: - The rent is fair enough. It’s lower the earlier you resign if you live there multiple years, which is nice. - It comes furnished and the current furniture is decent. It was definitely worse the first year or so I lived there so I appreciate that they’ve actually upgraded instead of just picking garbage furniture. - Maintenance is super nice and very prompt. - A/C & heat work really well and don’t drive your utilities up. - Never had any issues with mold, which is honestly a big plus these days. - A very walkable distance from JMU (and downtown in general!) If you are looking for the best neighborhood and the nicest people The Mills is a place to be! Shout out to Nancy for being such a genuinely nice person! Thanks for all that you have done for me and my roommates, you are the best :) Also it’s close to a BEAUTIFUL park. I’m in love with that place and absolutely gorgeous in the morning. I have been living at the Mill for about a year. The office is quick, efficient, and eager to assist with any issues that may arise. Ive had some appliance issues but they were quickly resolved. The building manager went out of her way to assist with certain router dilemmas.

I want to thank Nichole and the other associate (I'm so sorry - I didn't catch her name!) who helped us, not only get moved in, but through a tricky roommate swap. We so appreciate their help. They made everything so easy! Thank you all so much!

Overall my experience at The Mill apartments has been very positive. The rent is very reasonable considering it includes: utilities (Electric up to $20), a furnished space, parking, and nice sized units. Maintenance has been great to work with, as soon as we put in a request through the resident portal they're usually pretty prompt to respond. They also take care of things as best they can and do whatever they can to address issues that are brought up. Very pleased that they changed the guest parking policy, it is so much better now- the system before just seemed like more work for everyone involved and the new system is so much easier on everyone, not to mention just being better for the residents. If you see prior reviews complaining about the pass system, it has been corrected to where
