The Metropolitan Apartments

1. They Airbnb units. Airbnbers are smoking in their units - stinking up hallways. And will go around the gym with their phones our just recording 2. Insulation is horrible. Your air escapes as soon as it’s pumped in 3. Roaches in units, they do minimal work to help that 4. Rooftop is ugly. Imagine a concrete slab with flipped chairs and puddles of water 5. Raising amenity fees without actually improving amenities. 2/6 treadmills don’t work, one bench doesn’t work in the gym. 6. One doorman is phenomenal. That’s it.

I toured this apartment building for a family member and, as someone in commercial real estate, I appreciate great salespeople & customer service. The entire team--Shy, Kleva, and Sharon--were responsive, personable and relatable. What sets this building apart are the people. Location & amenities are advantages as well.

We moved here and moved from Miami and we’re happy with the building’s location and the value compared to other apartments we toured. Hands down the best pricing for size and amenities for the area. I was a bit off put when we applied as they required a significant upfront cost since my credit needs improvement but we rented a expensive luxury apartment with min money down and never missed a payment but their requirements are displayed with the quality of residents in the building. Maintenance has been great, a new maintenance team lead by John started right after we moved in and they’ve been great along with the front desk people the experience has been surprisingly good. Living here for 3 years, I can say that it is a great apartment and location in Center City in value and convenience. The 24-hour door staff are awesome people; mail and packages are handled well. The property management and maintenance are responsive and communicate with the community often.

The Metropolitan use to be a great place to live but since GY Properties took over things have declined. It is dirty and nothing works. The roof deck is disgusting. To top it off we now have to pay amenities for less. Stay away. I am leaving this month.
