Customer Reviews
Rent is the biggest part of our budgets, so when I found the Maxwell, my interest was piqued. I like to ask my coworkers what they pay, and my rent was always the lowest—they would enviously ask where I live! The Maxwell was convenient to my job at the time, it's in walking distance to an HEB plus!, and loads of other food options. As for my unit, it was quiet, spacious, and had "good bones" as they say. The property is shaded with established trees, has two pools, and great laundry facilities—I prefer their machines over any washateria, and the app made everything convenient. The complex is a mix of quiet, hard-working people. The water was out a few times, but it was always working when I got home. Staff was great—consummate professionals. The value proposition at Maxwell worked
3 years in the Maxwell with zero benefits. I won't encourage anyone to move to this apartment. My 3 years stay at Maxwell wasn't entertaining, I went through so many challenges. Plumbing issues, no proper pest control, roaches 🪳 everywhere. Maintenance is very slow. Heater failure during extreme winter is another challenges. Again the problem of base rent is something no tenant would like to tolerate, when I started renting, my base rent was $800 later they increased it to $950. Even though they lack maintenance and proper management, they're still adding house rent. The management is another disaster troubling the apartment, the lady in charge of managing the apartment have zero feelings for humanity, they talk to people with no respect. Even when you complain they don't take it serious.
I have been here 2 years. if you can avoid it please do it. this year has been the worst. we have water off at least twice a month. I am ready to break my lease as this is the 6 day off and on that we haven't had hot water. sure they sent repair men but they were gone by what 7-8 pm. while we had to just suffer with only cold water. On Christmas No water at all. oh it's warm for 2 seconds then when you turn the knob too much it's cold. don't know what's wrong with the plumbing here but they need to just tear down and restart from scratch or something. there are roaches as people state. when I 1st moved in it was an infestation. I couldn't move in for a month fully. I had my stuff still in boxes. they act quickly sure but poorly. they do everything cheaply. I know bc my door is painted over
[09/14/25] Mikayla, Boyd & Sky have been helpful with the transition from one of the other sister(s) property. I’ve seen the improvements done at the sister property and I’m seeing it through here. It does take the effort of tenants and I’ve very much appreciated management’s communication and promptness. We had delays but nonetheless resolved less than two weeks! Those growing pains are showing some healing at this property and I’m happy to be apart of it. As I mentioned at their sister property communication is key! Both properties definitely are showing improvements from what previous landlord/owners did neglect. It takes time & worth the patience. Edit/update (02/13/26): as much patience as it takes this has been an ongoing trend since November of water plumbing issues. We get notices
WATER OUTAGES: Be prepared to have backup places to shower & use the restroom on short notice. THE WATER IS ALWAYS OFF. At least once a week! No exaggeration. Sometimes they’ll notify and sometimes they don’t. It’s getting annoying and redundant. I wake up and have to get ready for work— lo and behold, the water is off, yet again! One day I was dying my roots and went to go rinse it off & the water wasn’t on. That was my last straw. ROACHES: There is also a roach infestation problem in my building. I keep my unit as clean as I can but there’s always huge roaches in the restroom and small ones in the kitchen. I’ve tried everything but they’re in the walls moving from unit to unit. TRASH: they charge $30 a month for “trash pickup” but no one ever comes to pick up my trash. Out of all the
