The Lantana

If you want an apartment here whatever you do, don’t tell them if you’re a student, they will not lease with you. It’s the first question they’ll ask you. And they don’t care how old you are, I’m 37 with 10 years rental history, I’m an adult. They replied with, “ I don’t make the rules”… they don’t make the rules because they’re a passive person, and they just do whatever people tell you to do, instead pushing back with a an honest reasonable argument as to why that rule makes absolutely no common sense.

I have had an amazing experience at The Lantana. The rents are affordable and the only other thing I have to pay for is my electricity. I have friends my neighbors and my move in was processed swiftly and hassle free. 10/10 recommend this location.

This property is amazing! Due to being a tax credit property getting through compliance can be a bit frustrating but that has nothing to do with leasing staff or property itself! Jessica was very patient with me explaining the different percentage unit caps! This is the only Apt in San Marcos that works with your income! Sofia was very knowledgeable and was able to find me the perfect unit based on my income! This team is with it and deserves a raise! I would also like to address some negative reviews I've seen. First off I see complaints that the staff does not always answer phone calls or return calls. I would implore anyone having this issue to simply stop by in person and set up an appointment. I’ve had a very frustrating experience living at The Lantana Apartments . In the time I’ve been here, I’ve had two refrigerator replacements due to Freon leaks — both of which resulted in spoiled food and, more importantly, spoiled breast milk for my baby. As a breastfeeding mom, this has been incredibly stressful and upsetting. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, upper management has done nothing to resolve it or offer any form of compensation or refund. I’ve been told they’ve been “out”, which is not an acceptable excuse when residents are dealing with essential appliance failures. If you’re looking for an apartment where you’ll be treated like a priority — especially when it comes to basic necessities like food storage — I cannot recommend this place. Changing my review because I’ve recently had great experience with staff and maintenance. We had problems with our AC and maintenance was super helpful in helping us with that. The utilities are new and really good. I love having a washer and dryer in our unit.
