Thank you to the managers for showing off their amazing customer service skills every single day!! I am completely obsessed with management team at this property. They are so incredibly friendly and attentive to their residents. They host amazing events for everyone who lives here. The new clubhouse renovations are also gorgeous. Being close to VCU but far away from the chaos of downtown is amazing too.

Peace of mind for a VCU Mom ! 5 Stars! My daughter spent four wonderful years here—starting in a 4-bedroom for a few years before moving into a 2-bedroom. As a mother, the gated area with 24-hour security gave me such incredible peace of mind, and the shuttle bus to VCU was a lifesaver, sparing her from Richmond traffic and parking headaches to and from class. The staff and management truly set this place apart; they treat you like family. Bayleigh at the front office always has a smile and happy to help you with anything. They are always putting on great activities for the residents, like bingo with awesome prizes and food trucks, which makes it feel like a real community. DO NOT LIVE HERE EVEN IF IT IS YOUR LAST OPTION. Being homeless just might be better. For starters, you do NOT get what you pay for. I have never seen the pool be anything but dirty and green. When I first moved in, there were problems within my unit that have yet to be fixed. My bathroom is missing a drawer, my dresser halfway opens, and my couch is caving into the ground. Every month, rent prices spike up with no rhyme or reason, and the water bill comes back to be about $50+ a month per person, when a water bill for an entire house doesn’t cost that much. You pay $50 a month for safe, ensured parking, yet you can’t even get that. Don’t think you can come home past 5:30 pm and find somewhere to park because you CAN’T. Nice Place for low budget all amenity based apartments. Wifi is extremely Good. Has all the necessary amenities at lower cost. The pool might become dirty because its open near trees so leaves enter into the space easily. Apartment 6 corridors require cleaning. But other than that its a great apartment complex with sufficient parking and amenities and straightforward and hardworking managers.

Called in with questions because my child is looking for an affordable apartment. I spoke with Shavaree over the phone and she made this process very easy. I will definitely keep The James as an option for my child! She explained everything very well and I was left very satisfied with my interaction.
