The Hub at Metuchen

I’ve been living here now for 6 years and I absolutely love it! I cannot say enough about this apartment complex. Irene, who is the property manager, has been working here the entire time I’ve been living here and she has ALWAYS been amazing! She’s very responsive to emails and so helpful if she’s ever needed. Irene decorates the building for the holidays and always keeps the building clean and looking great! She has organized cooking classes for residents as well as other Wednesday night events and Super Bowl parties which have been so fun! I’ve never had an issue with any maintenance requests either, they are always filled as soon as possible. I truly do not plan on going anywhere any time soon!

The Hub apartment is safe and well-maintained, though the walls are quite thin, so noise can carry at times. Despite that, my leasing experience was great—Irene was kind, always tried to help, and made the process easy. We needed to move into another unit, and Irene quickly got our lease settled for our new apartment. The community spaces are always kept clean, and while I rarely had maintenance requests, the few I had were resolved in a timely manner. Irene also made sure any issues were taken care of right away, which I really appreciated.

I use to live here,but no longer do. The current management of this property had created a tense and unsupportive environment. For my mental well being I moved out. Maintenance issues often went unresolved, and tenant concerns are largely ignored, with some residents fearing retaliation for speaking up. I had no issues with the previous manager but Irene became manager four years ago, and the property has deteriorated significantly. The maintenance worker at the time was fired for stealing from a tenant. Allegations of fraud and mismanagement persist. My friends who still live there are ready to escalate concerns to city officials and media outlets if changes aren’t made. To rebuild trust, management should introduce an anonymous complaint system and hold monthly meetings open to tenants a

The current management of this property has created an environment that is not conducive to tenant comfort or well-being. Requests and maintenance issues often go unaddressed for extended periods, sometimes taking months or even years to resolve. This used to be a desirable place to live, but under current management, it has become less so. There is a notable lack of responsiveness to tenant concerns, and some residents fear retaliation if they voice complaints directly. It may be beneficial for management to implement an anonymous complaint system, allowing tenants to voice their concerns without fear of reprisal, as it appears many feel the ownership

I just moved to Metuchen and unfortunately due to unexpected issues at my current apartment complex, I had to look for another apartment. I made an appointment with Irene Harrington, Community Manager, at The Hub in Metuchen. Irene listened patiently to the issues I was experiencing and conveyed empathy for my situation. Luckily for me in a couple weeks time, the perfect apartment became available and I will be moving into The Hub at the end of July. I cannot thank Irene enough for her professionalism, kindness and understanding. Irene possesses a genuine warmth and has an amazing way with people. She went above and beyond which unfortunately is rare in today’s world.
