The Heights at Evans Mills

Previous management were a bunch of scam artists and liars. But I’m pleased to say under new management this place is phenomenal. We were worried about our carpets but they now prorate the carpets dating back to the age of the carpet itself. They were very clear and honest about everything. We got $200 back on our deposit which was extremely fair. Willie, Zane, and Courtney you are all superstars and have really turned the place around. Maintenance is on point and friendly. My only complaint are some of the residents themselves but that is out of their control. Thank you for me and my families stay at your wonderful residence, keep striving to be better and improve as you have ❤️

When we moved in we noticed the carpets weren’t completely down in the corners and had huge gaps in them and we notified the leasing office and they said they would send out a service tech to look at it and they never did! They also said they put it down in the notes for our apartment so we couldn’t be charged for them. At move out they told my husband we didn’t have to pay for the rugs because they were old and they were renovating the apartment anyways after we left, and then when he got to the leasing office to close everything out they charged him $2400 for the rug replacement! I am in tears because i’m so upset and i feel scammed from this place.

I lived at The Heights for a year and recently broke my lease due to deployment orders. I have rented several apartments while owning my two large dogs. Upon trying to break my lease I asked to set my move-out inspection for November 5th. Was told that they do not allow prorating and I would be required to pay the full amount for the month. So I instead initially set my move-out date to October 31st. Because why would I voluntarily spend $1,300 for 5 days? Furthermore, when I told them this in person the individual helping me said “well are you sure you want to do that? Where are you going to stay for those days if you leave earlier than you intended?”. This is my first deployment and thankfully I mentioned this tale to a co-worker who informed me that not allowing prorating with deploym

The negative reviews here are about maintenance and being scammed out of the deposit with regards to the carpet. Let’s add the sheer lack of response to noise complaints. The walls are paper thin and you can be on the street and it will be dead quiet, come to your place and you can hear every word the neighbor is saying as if they were screaming it sitting next to you. For it being such a large community of people station at Fort Drum, you would think they would have more consideration for those who have to get up early to serve their country. I highly recommend to rent with a private owner .

I recently moved in and absolutely wish there was a way to break this lease. DO NOT move to this place, the utilities included are not worth it. Not only is it completely outdated but the old cabinets smell foul and are disgusting. If you live in the downstairs apartment you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor does. The walls are so thin you can hear their conversations like they're beside you. Which means zero peace and quiet. There is no sleeping when they're walking around. They do not take care of this place. There is paint everywhere. The bathtubs are disgusting. I have already had issues with so many spiders being inside. I should have read the reviews before picking to move here. Please do not make the same mistake.
