The Edge in Chattanooga, TN next to the UTC Johnson Obear dorms is overpriced, the leasing agent is another person around the same age as you - so she doesn't know much more than you about the property, and the apartment complex will attempt to assert new rules and unapplicable fines on you throughout your entire lease and even after move-out. For example, the lease that I SIGNED stated a monthly pet fee, but it didn't specify a pet limit nor "fee per pet." A few months after I adopted my cats, The Edge all the sudden decided to double my pet rent. I reviewed the lease and showed them their fine print where it lacks the specifications of pet limit & pet fees. This has been a fantastic place for my daughter to live. The apartment was clean and cute. We have been very happy with the security of the building. She was able to park close by and was never frightened to come in the building. She never had any maintenance issues at all. It's a perfect location as she was able to walk to all of her classes. Overall, it's a great place!

I have lived in several different places all over Chattanooga, and this was by far the worst. It took months of constant noise complaints for me to finally get a formal noise complaint written against them. Seriously, months. There is a 24 hour quiet policy in the lease. My girlfriend brought her dog over one time and I IMMEDIATELY got threatened with a $300 fine that was in the lease about no other pets allowed on property. See the irony? The lease stipulations apparently only apply to whoever they feel like applying it to. They screw you out of two weeks worth of rent. They write their lease where if you move in on the first, you'll move out on the 15th on the final month but you still have to pay a final rent installment so watch out for that. Great location for students. Very close to local restaurants, and accessible by walking distance. Very reasonable pricing for anyone starting out, especially since the apartments are fully furnished, and Tara is always ready to help you with anything you need.

This is an awesome place to live if you don't want to drive to campus everyday for classes and still get the college feel without RAs and with nicer apartments! Plus it's way closer to campus than Douglas Heights and way more quiet haha! Def the better pick between the two
