The Commonwealth

I have lived at The Commonwealth for nearly 2 years now and it has been a wonderful experience! The staff was overall very responsive and any maintenance requests were handled quickly. The rooftop is great and the new gym/basement was remodeled nicely. The neighborhood is great too - there are so many restaurants and bars within a short walk and it allowed me to get to know the city when I first moved here. I will miss this place!

Management and maintenance in this building feel almost nonexistent to me. I’ve had to reach out a number of times just for maintenance to spend approximately 5 minutes in my unit and the main issue still hasn’t been fully resolved. I’m disappointed. Otherwise, front desk staff is solid.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. By far the worst decision I’ve ever made. The property managers and leasing office will charge you more than you owe, and will demand the money without trying to fix any mistakes on their end. I’m sure they will reply to this trying to make their side seem reasonable and legit but promise me when I tell you that they will overcharge you and do everything they can to get every dime from your pocket. There are plenty of other places to live in the city that do not offer this kind of terrible behavior from leasing and management. On top of that, the loitering that goes on outside of the 7-Eleven directly next-door, makes it uncomfortable and not worth living somewhere where you are asked to buy food and get change every time you step in and out of the building. 0/10. Honest review after living at Commonwealth for 2 years: I had a wonderful time here, and I would recommend: Pros: 1. Modern apartments, good location and rent is reasonable compared to similar buildings in the area 2. Sharnita does a great job managing the building. Maintenance requests has been usually very quick. 3. Front desk is great- they go beyond to help out. I’ve had 0 missing packaging in my time here. They give you a call when perishables are delivered. 4. New amenities just opened- I’ve used the gym and rooftop. Cons: 1. The 7eleven in the building can be uncomfortable and loud. I sometimes go around the other way to avoid crossing in front of the store. 2. My apartment was on the 2nd floor and it could get loud on Friday/Saturday nights or with traffic. Sharnita did a fantastic job of showing us apartments we were interested in. From my first phone call with her she was personable and was able to answer all of my questions. The day we met up to see apartments she was prepared, gave a great tour of the building and was very thorough with how everything worked. It was easy to see that Sharnita is someone who takes pride in her work, is super engaging and good at what she does.
