Stay Away — The “Pool” Is a Swamp, Not an Amenity If you’re considering moving here because of the “beautiful pool” they advertise, turn around and run. What was once probably meant to be an inviting place to cool off has become a murky, green swamp straight out of a horror movie. The water is so cloudy and overrun with algae that you can’t even see the first step going in. Mosquitoes hover in thick clouds over the surface, frogs have made it their home —makes you question if the pool has been touched by a maintenance crew in months. It’s not just an eyesore; it’s a health hazard. You’ll feel embarrassed bringing friends over when they see what management tries to pass off as an amenity. And the worst part? Complaints go unanswered. They’ll tell you “maintenance is scheduled soon,” but “

I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with our experience at The Barrett, and honestly I wish I didn’t have to write a review like this. There are things we like about the property itself — the building and amenities are nice — but the way management and maintenance treat residents has been incredibly disrespectful and stressful. We have been without air conditioning for about three weeks. The temperature inside our apartment has reached 85°F, and sometimes it feels even hotter, especially when we cook. At this point it’s honestly more comfortable to be outside than inside our own home. The most upsetting part is that we have a five-month-old baby, and she has been waking up soaking wet in sweat because of how hot the apartment gets. None of us are sleeping well. The five stars is specifically for Ryan - the new maintenance manager. I have lived at this complex for the past three years. My experience has not been pleasant with the AC going out three times and the last one taking over 6 months to fix during 80+ degree weather in the summer. We also moved in with mold in our bathroom that has now spread. There was also a conflict, where the online portal wasn’t taking online payments. So I went to the office multiple times during work hours and called several times to have it addressed, and they were never there or answered the phone. Only for one day to receive an eviction notice and have to pay a $300 fine. But the new maintenance team is fantastic. My garbage disposal was leaking, and Ryan came within the hour to fix it. One thing people should know is that maintenance often asks residents to leave a review while they’re standing in your apartment. That’s probably why there are good reviews here. What they don’t tell you is that many times the problem is not actually fixed. They come once, ask you to leave a review right away, and then the issue continues or they never follow up again. So don’t be fooled by all the positive reviews. Many of them are written in the moment because residents are asked to post them, not because the problems were truly solved. Our experience living here has been extremely frustrating, and the maintenance response has been very disappointing.

I moved into The Barrett during the summer time and so far it has been great. Any time we have a question or a problem, we are able to easily reach the office and they are readily available to help. Maresa has been a HUGE help as well since she has given us our tour her all the way to today with her helping me with a package issue. I really appreciate the help and the attention they give the residents here.
