★★★★★ 5.0 Veterans Moving Help · Jan 2026

We just wrapped up an on-site moving help job at The Alexander at Ghent Apartment Homes. A resident here decided to move from one apartment to another right inside the building. That says a lot—when someone likes a community enough to stay, it’s worth paying attention to. From a professional point of view, the property looked detailed and very well-kept. The hallways were clean and everything felt comfortable and well-maintained. Our team from Norfolk Movers Military Vets Norfolk Moving Companies handles moving help and labor all over, and we can tell when a building is run the right way. We have to give a huge shout-out to Olivia in the leasing office. Her professionalism and warm, positive vibe stood out immediately. She is very knowledgeable and is flat-out a serious asset to that com

I seriously debated writing a review in fear that management would treat me poorly if I did but I am fed up. The location is great but there are too many bugs and problems. I moved here in June. The leasing process was a hassle. The first 2 bed apartment I applied for was taken by someone else. Fine, I'll accept 1 bedroom. I just did not want to be on the first floor. I never get a lease, have to call and text regularly to make sure I have signed lease 4 weeks before moving in but they "don't have staff to keep up." They finally send the lease and then the week after call to tell me that apartment is no longer available. My only choice is a 2 bedroom on the first floor. 2.5 weeks to move day and I have no other choice but to accept. While moving, notice the floor is soaking wet in front o

Great Location, But the Problems Outweigh the Perks I moved here excited about the amazing location—close to everything I need and with plenty of potential. Unfortunately, the positives stop there. The pest issues are persistent and not adequately addressed, making it hard to feel comfortable in my own space. On top of that, basic safety concerns—like poor lighting in common areas and unreliable security measures—have left me feeling uneasy on more than one occasion. Given these ongoing problems, the rent is far too high for what you actually get. Management’s responses have felt more like band-aids than real solutions, which is frustrating when you’re paying premium prices. If location is your only priority, you might overlook these shortcomings. But if you value peace of mind, safety,

We have lived here for about a month — so far we haven’t had any large issues. We had a few problems when we moved in and maintenance fixed them immediately or that same week. We love the location and the security of the parking garage. Everyone here is really nice and management is super sweet as well — it’s walkable to groceries and restaurants. Will update if something changes but so far I wouldn’t let the bad reviews deter you from this place. I also would like to say we have had NO ISSUES with roaches or any pests— they have someone come and spray everything biweekly and I’ve only ever seen a bug outside once when they couldn’t spray due to the holidays. UPDATED REVIEW: I will add we just had a small issue with our garbage disposal and let’s just say if you can fix it yourself then do

Extremely Disappointed After 2 Years After living at Alexander for 2 years, I can confidently say the only consistent thing about this place is the infestation of ants and palmetto bugs that seem to pour out of every crack and corner. I tolerated it for far too long, but the final straw came on moving day. The building has one small loading dock, which is first come, first serve — a flawed system, but manageable if enforced properly. Unfortunately, on the morning of my scheduled move, an inconsiderate tenant parked there as early as 7 AM, left their car untouched for hours, and didn’t start loading until well into the afternoon. When I brought this issue to the front office, I was met with confusion, conflicting stories, and ultimately, a complete lack of accountability. First, I was to
