The Aldyn Apartments

Renter in the Aldyn for nearly 5 years now. Great building in an incredible location on the Upper West Side. Not a bad word to say about the building staff - everyone is very friendly and helpful. Same goes for the leasing office. As most have mentioned, one would be hard tasked to find a better gym within another building on the Upper West Side. The gym has just about every amenity a person could ask for. I cannot imagine calling anywhere else home.

I have lived around 66/Columbus for the last 20 years, my wife has lived here her whole live, so we have a pretty good frame of reference as to what to expect in the Lincoln Square/Columbus Circle area of the UWS. Our family moved in to The Aldyn almost two months ago, and no, nothing is perfect, but the staff here is VERY friendly, my kids and I spend a lot of time in the lobby chopping it up with the fellas down there. It has been nice getting to know the team here. The Aldyn is a large building, so there are some limitations on what the staff can do. I think you have to be realistic about that, and if you are, you'll be very happy. Also worthy of note, there are A LOT of parking garages within a couple of blocks of here, so if you have a car you really can't get more convenient that

I live in this building. I’ve been a resident since 2015. The management company is deplorable. Be very very cautious when dealing with them. They will entice you with a low rent rate but then slap you with a huge 12-18% inc upon renewal. Knowing how difficult and annoying it is to move, you’re stuck. Example: my renewal rate increase 11% this year even though I’ve been a resident for 10 years. Zero loyalty. The apt below mine: same layout is advertised for 12.5% lower than my rate. In a year or two expect the rate to inc substantially. Trying to negotiate with them is futile. Long list of issues with nonexistent and non communicative superintendent. I have thoroughly enjoyed living in this building and appreciate the excellent staff. The doormen are outstanding, and the leasing team is equally commendable. However, I have significant concerns regarding the gym facilities, particularly the reformer Pilates studio, and the overall management of the gym. As the gym membership is not included in the rent, I chose to forgo an external Pilates or gym membership, expecting the in-house classes to meet my needs. Unfortunately, it has been nearly impossible to secure a spot in the classes. The same individuals consistently occupy the limited spaces, creating the perception that these classes are effectively reserved for them. When we toured an apartment with agent Fred, the whole floor was covered with dead cockroaches. The agent appeared super nonchalant about it, but we found it very disturbing. Not an acceptable presentation for such supposedly nice building.
