The Albert - Capitol Park

Avoid living here--the landlord/management is slimy. I lived here between 2023-2025, and the place has seen FOUR different property managers during that time. I liked the building staff in general, but the turnover rate indicates to me that the corporate landlord/managers could care less about treating people right. For me personally, I arranged a lease takeover and did everything by the book, but after SEVERAL MONTHS of waiting and regularly following up, I still haven't gotten my full security deposit ($1638) back, even though I was assured in writing and in the lease takeover contract that I'd receive it back in full. I was also assured I'd get a prorated rent refund (~$630), since I moved out mid-month, but still haven't gotten that back in full either. I got about half of what I

The Albert was the worst and one of the most expensive places I’ve ever rented. Unfortunately, I could not have anticipated any of the issues I struggled with before moving in. Every week brought a new surprise, and moving out before the end of my lease would have cost me a fortune. - Very loud noise all day and night, especially on the alley side. Based on my sleep-tracking bracelet, I did not get deep sleep for the entire year, even with earplugs in. I’m still working on fixing my health. - Elevators constantly breaking down. One elevator was out of service most of the time in 2023-2024, and the other one kept breaking too. Walking up to the top floor was tough. It was also not fun ordering a delivery and realizing I’d have to carry everything upstairs myself. - Problems with heat, A/C,

I’ve had a mixed experience here, but Ricci, the building manager, has been amazing. Despite issues like a broken dishwasher on move-in, a leaking sink, heat problems, and occasional noise, I have enjoyed my stay. Ricci went above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. The location is fantastic with great amenities, though the building does have its challenges at times.

- Lived here in 2020/2021 - Elevators never work and smelled like piss multiple times - Fired the front desk without notifying any of the residents nor adjusting our rent - When I moved out, I discarded a number of items because I was upgrading a lot of things in my next place. I noticed that management kept taking my things out of the trash and using it (a little gross, but whatever). So, instead of throwing away my TV, I left it for them to use. This cost me my entire security deposit (which was a little under 2 thousand dollars) and when I emailed them saying how crazy that is and even if they weren't going to use it and throw it away, it wouldn't cost close to 2k to move it down ONE flight of stairs -- they pretty much told me to get lost. There are so many better places to live around
