Thayer Homes

We bought a home from Thayer a few years ago. This was a fully custom build so we had to start from the very beginning by working with an architecture firm, lot clearing and positioning of the home, appliance & material selection, etc. Thayer and their team were very involved and helpful in guiding us through all the steps until we got the key to our new home. We were living in another state during most of the construction phase and Thayer kept us up to date with progress. Recently, our home requires some warranty work and Terry was very proactive in getting involved and seeing the work completed to our satisfaction. Overall, we are very happy with Thayer Home and we would highly recommend.

I bought a home from Thayer around a year ago. I would recommend a Thayer home to anyone, I am very pleased. They included a lot of extra details many other homes on the market did not: crown molding, tray ceiling in the master, beautiful door casings, painted doors and the best shower I've ever used, to name a few. Their attention to detail shows. The warranty manager, Donovan, was great to deal with. He responded to emails day and night and solved the few issues we had quickly. We just completed the 1-year walkthrough and Donovan and his team went above and beyond to fix the things that popped up from the house settling over time. All the vendors were good to deal with, I didn't get any "that's not my problem" responses that I expected. 10/10, would buy from them again.

In 2022, I bought a home that Thayer Homes built in 2019. After having water enter into the crawl space, I had a foundation engineer and multiple drainage companies come to look at the issue. They found that when the holes for the water and sewer lines were drilled into the foundation, the holes were not properly sealed. I’m addition, the land was not graded properly, allowing water to run towards the foundation of the house. Additionally, and again due to improper grading with a slope towards the house, a masonry pier supporting the porch has also been eroded and cracked. The improper build was confirmed by two home inspectors and a structural engineer. After numerous attempts to contact Thayer, I was eventually told that because the year warranty was up, they would not fix the issues and

Do NOT do business with these people. They are very deceitful. On TWO occasions 2-3 days BEFORE closing they called with “ lender issues”. I terminated my contract. Found a reputable company and have been very satisfied with them. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.

Terry and Kristi are an outstanding couple and run their business well. I've sold a little over a dozen properties to them over the years, and it has always gone smooth and according to plan. 5 stars.
